Laufey sighed, he knew his youngest son would not like this arrangement. Taking a deep breath, he called a maid over to his throne and requested for her to summon his son to him. The maid nodded and quickly scampered off. Watching the maid rush off, Laufey sighed again. He really hopes Loki won't be too upset. As soon as that thought crossed his mind, the youngest and smallest of his sons entered the throne room with a worried look on his face as he made his way across the room to stand in front of Laufey's throne. "What is it that you needed father?" Loki asked, looking up at his father. Laufey looked down at his beloved son and sighed. "What is it father? What's wrong?" Loki asked as he shifted from foot to foot.

Laufey gestured for Loki to come closer, which he quickly did. "As you know our realm is dying without the casket of eternal winters." Laufey stated, nerves clear in his voice. "Yes, I am aware of our realms condition..." Loki said, a look of confusion on his face. The king took a deep breath for continuing. "And you are aware of how it happened...The allfather has come up with a contract to return the casket back to us." Laufey states. Loki's face went from a look of confusion to a look of surprise and joy. "Really? That's wonderful news!" Loki said joyfully but the smile fell quickly. "There is a catch...isn't there?" Loki said looking at his father.

Loki sighed. "What's the catch?" Loki asked nibbling at his bottom lip. "There is to be an arranged marriage..." Laufey replied. Loki's cobalt skin when almost three shades lighter. "Between who?" Loki asked nervously. Laufey takes a deep breath before responding. "It is between you and a Midgardian hero". A look of fear flashed across Loki's face. "W-What? Why?" Loki asked, fear evident in his voice. "We lost the casket because I lead an attack on Midgard. I was quickly defeated and as punishment, the allfather took the casket of eternal winter." Laufey answered. "I know that father...that doesn't explain why I am being forced to marry a stranger." Loki replied quickly.

Laufey looked at his son sympathetically. "In order for the allfather to return the casket of eternal winters, we have to repair our relationship with Midgard and the allfather said that an arranged marriage would be the most effective way to do this." Laufey said, looking at his son. Loki felt extremely conflicted. He wanted to do what was right and save his home but he also didn't want to get married and be stuck in a loveless relationship. "Please son, we need the casket back. If it is not returned soon I fear this will be the last of Jotunheim." Laufey begged. Loki sighed before nervously agreeing. Laufey sighed in relief at Loki's agreement. "So...when do I get to meet my partner to be?" Loki asked looking at his father. "Next week I believe." Laufey replied. "Next week!!??" Loki cried.
