A few weeks had passed since Loki's conversation with Laufey and now plans for the wedding were in full swing. In fact, there was only two days before the ceremony was due to take place. Currently Bucky was pacing in the room he was staying in, a ring box gripped tightly in his hands. "God I really hope this works. I want him to know how I feel about him." Suddenly though, Bucky's mumbling was interrupted by a knock on his door.
"Bucky? are you in here? I uhm wanted to show you something." Loki said, nerves clear in his voice. Quickly, Bucky hid the ring box before answering. "Yeah I'm in here. You can come in Loki." Loki quickly walked into the room, wringing his hands together. Bucky smiled at his husband to be before gently taking one of Loki's elegant hands and squeezing it gently. "What did you want to show me?" He asked, smile still on his face.
Loki flushed immediately at the contact and stumbled over his words. "I... uhm...well..." He took a deep breath before continuing. "I made you something." Bucky's smile widened. "You did?" Bucky asked. Loki nodded before letting go of Bucky's hand and placing a band made of what looked like ice. Bucky looked at Loki for an explanation. Loki just smiled and slid the band onto Bucky's finger.
"My father told me that on Midgard you give the person that you're going to marry an engagement ring so...I thought I'd make you one." Loki explained, smiling sheepishly. "It's enchanted so it won't ever melt." Bucky smiled happily. "Thank you, Loki. I have something for you too." Bucky replied and handed Loki the ring box. "It seems that we both had the same idea." Bucky said, rubbing the back of his neck sheepishly.
The frost giant blushed slightly and giggled before carefully opening the ring box, a soft gasp falling from his purple tinged lips. "Bucky...this is beautiful...Thank you." Loki said softly, still looking at the ring in astonishment. Bucky just smiled. "A beautiful ring for a beautiful person." Bucky replied before taking the ring out of the box and slipping the ring onto Loki's ring finger. Loki squeaked and blushed a deep indigo at Bucky's comment.
Suddenly, Loki could hear his father calling for him. He had forgotten that they were doing the dress fitting today. "I have to go." Loki said quickly before kissing Bucky's cheek and rushing out of the room. Bucky just stood there dumbfounded, pressing his hand to where Loki kissed his cheek. He was in deep now. Smiling softly to himself, he sat down on his bed and looked over his vows that he had written himself.
Loki quickly made his way through the palace hallways to his father's room, a giddy smile on his face and his cheeks dusted with a deep blush. Laufey smiled when he saw his son walk into the room and his smile only grew when he saw the giddy smile painted across his face. "What's gotten you so giddy my son?" Laufey asked, still smiling. Loki blushed slightly more at his father's question.
"Well uhm...you remember that you told me about those things called engagement rings on Midgard?" Loki asked his father, who was sat on the floor atop a small pile of cushions as to not tower of Loki. "Of course, I do." Laufey replied, looking at his son questioningly. "Well I decided to make him one out of my ice magic....and we kind of had the same idea and... he gave me this ring." Loki said, his blush returning in full force now as he showed Laufey the ring.
Laufey smiled and looked at the ring. "It suits you perfectly son." Laufey said, a smile still on his face. "And... he called me beautiful dad." Loki said softly, a hint of insecurity clear in his voice. Gently, Laufey pulled his youngest son into his arms, hugging him comfortingly. "I told you he would feel the same Loki." Laufey said reassuringly. Loki just buried himself against his father's chest. "I know father...Thank you for understanding so much..." Loki mumbled softly, His voice muffled by the thick fur of Laufey's cloak.
"It's alright Loki. I'm always here for you. Now why don't you get your dress on so we can make sure everything fits comfortably?" Laufey questioned. Quickly, Loki climbed out of his father's arms and picked up his dress before walking behind the curtained off dressing area. Slipping on the dress, Loki looked at himself in the mirror, quickly giving himself a once over before stepping out.
Laufey grinned when he saw Loki's dress. "You look stunning my son. Absolutely gorgeous. Bucky is going to be speechless." Loki blushed at his father's compliments. "Y-You think so?" Loki asked nervously. "Yes Loki. I think that. Just one thing" Laufey said smiling before waving his hand and creating a belt of beautiful ice crystals that fused to the dress. "How about that?" Laufey asked smiling. Loki smiled widely. "I love it. Thank you father." Loki replied trying not to cry happy tears.
Laufey smiled and pulled Loki into another hug. "It's ok to cry Loki. Go ahead." Laufey said softly. And with that, Loki bursts into a flood of happy tears. Laufey just held his son comfortingly until the tears stopped. "Better?" Laufey asked. Loki nodded. "I'm going to take the dress off now." Loki said, once again leaving his father's embrace and went back behind the curtains to put his clothes back on. Laufey couldn't believe that in two days his youngest son would be married and moving away. Those two days couldn't of come sooner.
Bucky was a nervous wreck as he stood at the alter waiting for Loki. God he hoped he didn't mess up his vows. Then suddenly, music filled the room and in walked Loki, a bouquet of ice flowers gripped tightly in his hands, Laufey following behind him. Bucky stared in awe at how gorgeous Loki looked. Loki took his place beside Bucky as Laufey moved and stood behind them. "We are here today to celebrate the binding of my youngest son Loki and James 'Bucky' Barnes." Laufey looked at Bucky. "You may now recite your vows."
Bucky took a deep breath before starting. "Loki, you are the most amazing, beautiful, incredible and intelligent person I have ever met. You have shown me and taught me some incredible things that I never would of dreamt that'd I'd ever do. I love you so much, more than anything and I will love you until my last breath." Bucky finished. Loki was crying softly. Quickly, Loki wiped his eyes before looking at his father. Laufey gestured to Loki. " You may now recite your vows." Loki took a deep shuddering breath before starting.
"James, you are the most handsome, strong, caring, confident man I have ever met. You helped me slowly come out of my shell more and have helped me discover things about myself that I never knew. You've been through so much and you still care so much about the people you care about. I love you, more than you could ever know and I can't wait to have a family with you one day." Loki finished, trying not to cry though unsuccessfully. Bucky had tears in his eyes.
Laufey smiled. "With the power vested in me as king of Jotunheim I now pronounce you married. You may now kiss." And with that, Bucky pressed his lips to Loki's in a loving kiss as the crowds cheered. Needless to say that the reception would be incredible. And by the end of it all, Loki and Bucky were the only completely sober ones. Which, was a good thing as they were leaving for Midgard tomorrow.
