"And Apparently I'd be average height on Midgard!" Loki said excitedly, spinning on his heels and looking up at his father. "I'll finally fit in somewhere! And I'll be able to make some actual friends!" Loki jumped up and beamed. "He's also such a sweetheart! he's so kind to me and he thinks I'm cute!" Loki cried happily, blush dusting his blue skin. Laufey looked down at his youngest son and smiled. "I-I know I've only just met him...but I really like him. And he treats me like I'm normal...not a runt..." A look of surprised crossed Laufey's face when Loki said that.
"You do? Son that is great news!" Laufey said, relief clear in his expression. Loki nodded and bit his lip anxiously. "He keeps flashing me this smile...and it keeps making me feel weird..." Loki paused before taking a deep breath. "But I kind of like the feeling it gives me..." Loki said softly before glancing up at his father. " And apparently Midgard is full of vibrant colours. And his friends all live with him...and they act like a big happy family..." Loki sighed and looked down before mumbling. "What if his friends don't actually like me?" Loki asked nervously, looking up at his father.
"That's what I'm scared of most...I want his friends to like me..." Loki felt a few tears trickle down his cheek and quickly wiped them away. Laufey gently put his large hand on his son's shoulder. "Loki, my son, you are the jewel of Jotunheim and if those people can't see your worth, then they are not worth your time or affection. But I'm sure that they will adore you." Laufey said comfortingly. Loki nodded, desperately wanting to believe his father's words but he was still unsure. Laufey smiled slightly.
"Why don't you tell me more about Bucky then?" Laufey suggested, changing the topic. Loki nodded. "Alright. Well he's technically older than he looks which is the result of being frozen, just like his best friend. And he can apparently get quite protective...oh and he loves to play pranks!" Loki cried gleefully, a smile forming on his face. But that smile fell quickly. Loki sighed. "But I can't help but worry that he doesn't actually like me as much as I like him and that he doesn't actually want to go through with the marriage..."Loki trailed off and looked down.
"I'm sure that there's nothing to worry about Loki. But if anything happens please let me know... Jotunheim will always welcome you home." Laufey said comfortingly. Loki nodded and stood on his tiptoes to hug Laufey round his waist. "I love you father..." Loki mumbled softly. Laufey smiled. "And I you my precious jewel." Laufey replied. Loki took a deep breath and stepped back before he continued talking to his father about Bucky. Not realising that he was stood outside the room with a soft smile on his face.
"I really do want this Loki...please don't doubt that...I love you..." Bucky mumbled from where he was stood watching Loki talk with his father. He wished Loki could hear him...but that would have to wait.
