[200 Years Ago]
The Great Dog Demon named Toga-o is shown running across a vast distance as he ran to make it in time to save the woman, Izayoi, he loves who was in the process of giving birth to his children. He arrives with life-threatening injuries and he listens to the sounds of his newborn son and daughter crying as he revives the woman and places a cloak over her head. She looks up at him as she holds the two infants in her arms.
"My darling... we have... a girl and boy." Izayoi says. Toga-o nods before a man walks towards them.
"Inuyasha and Chiyomaru." Toga-o says.
"What?" The man that intended to attack asks.
"The infants' names. They shall be called Inuyasha, the boy, and Chiyomaru, the girl." Toga-o says.
"Inuyasha and Chiyomaru..." Izayoi says.
"Now go!" Toga-o says and Izayoi rushes away with the two children bundled in her arms. After a while, Izayoi looks down to make sure they are alright. Inuyasha and Chiyomaru scream as they cry together.
[Ten Years Later]
Chiyomaru is shown standing watching people play a game. Inuyasha runs over wanting to play. The people look down at him and laugh.
"Half-breed." One says and tosses the ball away.
'This world is cruel. From the moment of our birth, my brother, Inuyasha and I knew cruelty. With the looks of a human, I didn't know as much cruelty as my older twin did, but I still shared his struggles of always being seen of a half-breed. From what I could tell was that a half-breed was a child that was born from a demon and a human. Inuyasha showed his half-breed traits with the ears that were on top of his head. But then what was I? Being born without any demon traits other than my father's looks and an exceptionally long life, as far as I could tell... I was just human.' Chiyomaru's voice says as the memory fades away.
[140 Years Later – aka 50 years ago]
Chiyo smiled as she walked beside a black haired woman who had two different colored eyes and had the name of Reiki. Reiki looks at her as the two giggle. Chiyo also had black hair but sported beautiful golden eyes.
"Chiyo, how do you feel about wolves?" Reiki asks.
"Wolves? You realize we're born from dog demons right?" Chiyo asks.
"And? Wolves our only our wild cousins." Reiki says.
"I guess, why do you ask?" Chiyo asks.
"You know how I get visions when I sleep?" Reiki asks.
