A rock theme begins as Chiyo is shown turning as her black hair waves in the wind. As the music changes, her eyes are zoomed in to show sad looking eyes. "What should I protect?" The title is shown before it fades away to show Chiyo standing with Inuyasha, Miroku, Sango, Shippo and Kirara. "Without a doubt, there was only one thing: An echoing cry, a sound made in vain within the deep forest." Kagome is shown running over to them and Shippo jumps down to the ground from Sango's Hiraikotsu and smiles up at Kagome. The music changes as Koga is shown with gritted teeth as he growled. "The reason I could hold back my tears, was because of the warmth when our fingers touched!" The music speeds up and Chiyo is shown standing alone as the wind is shown blowing her hair and she held her arms up to stop it. "A future without you is a future without meaning!" Koga is shown jumping over to attack Kagura before Inuyasha, Kagome, Sango, Miroku and Shippo also appear and attack at Kagura, Kanna and Naraku. "I'll never let go of you again!" Light flashes and Sesshomaru is shown walking with Rin and Jaken before a woman with duel-colored eyes and black hair flashes like a ghost while she looked to be sleeping before Sesshomaru is shown multiple times wielding one of his three swords. "The world I see with you is a world I've never seen before!" Light flashes and Chiyo is shown either playing with Inuyasha's ears, Shippo's tail or Kirara in general while the others just laughed at Inuyasha getting angry. "We travel across time and space on a distant journey!" Light flashes as Chiyo and Koga are shown back to back as Koga wields metal claws on his right hand while he looked to be growling. The music slows down as the two fade to silhouettes and the title is shown.
The anger that the many people have built up against Naraku, especially that of Sesshomaru who though angry that Naraku had once kidnapped Rin, he was especially angry for Reiki being trapped in a wake less sleep. Back then, he wasn't fully sure who it was that put her in the sleep, so his anger hadn't been focused anywhere, but Sesshomaru believed he might one day be able to awaken her if he possessed the Tetsusaiga to give him the power he needs.
In the last 50 years, Sesshomaru had not once gone to visit Reiki. He refused to. She was just a mortal, a cursed mortal at that along with being the daughter of Toga-o's rival. But Reiki wasn't any of those. Reiki had always been kind to Sesshomaru, even if he hated her. After a while however, that hatred was no longer hatred. It became something much different, and Sesshomaru knew that Reiki knew all along what that something was. Though, before she had been cursed, she never once told Sesshomaru just what it was. Sesshomaru had a small feeling just exactly what it was however.
It began however, 250 years ago. A good fifty years before Toga-O's death. Sesshomaru remembers that full moon night. The night that he followed the gentle sound of a Shamisen that Reiki had loved to play. It wasn't the only instrument she could play, but it was the one that had drawn Sesshomaru to the place of their meeting. That story however, was to be told at a different time.
Currently, Chiyo was being held by Koga as they were inside Naraku's barrier. Chiyo had her own barrier up as she'd been knocked unconscious. Outside the two barriers, Kagome fires an arrow. It shatters the bottom part of Naraku's barrier where Koga and Chiyo are. Chiyo's barrier, surrounded by that of goop from Naraku's body, begins seeping out of Naraku's own barrier.
"Look! It's Chiyo and Koga!" Shippo yells. Chiyo and Koga fall still surrounded in Chiyo's barrier. Inuyasha, Kagome and Shippo rushes after Chiyo and Koga. The entire time they'd been inside Naraku's flesh, Koga had released Chiyo. He was determined to protect her even in death. Inuyasha looks at Kagome and Shippo.
"I'll go after Chiyo and Koga. Koga's doing all he can to protect Chiyo, but she's mortal so if she doesn't get out of here quickly, she'll die from the miasma." Inuyasha says.
