Dean sighed as he rubbed the back of his neck. He looked around the slowly rotting landscape of the clearing he, Sam, and Cas were in. His attention turned to Sam who was crouched down by another tree a few yards off. He squinted slightly noticing it was slowly getting darker. He pushed off the tree he was leaning on and walked closer to where Sam and Cas were. They had been out in the woods between the two places the men's bodies were found, about a mile from Mac's.
"Sam, we've been at this for over an hour, and it's starting to get dark." He huffed. Sam stood up as he nodded wiping off his hands. Cas looked between the men studying them carefully.
"I feel like we're missing something," Sam responded brushing his hair out of his face. "The markings aren't even adding up. The first attack looks messy. The second one looks more like they knew what they were doing." He finished.
"Maybe it's a new werewolf," he offered, "...or maybe we're back to not-a-werewolf." he sighed rubbing his face. "This was supposed to be a milk run, Sam." he turned his attention to Cas. "You getting anything?"
"I'm not picking anything up either." Cas chimed shaking his head.
"Yeah. We might as well head back, and besides, Dean has to get ready for his date." Sam teased. Dean rolled his eyes as they stared their way back to the car.
"Not a date, Sam, because I'm not going." He said pointing a finger at Sam. He had decided not to go and texted Olivia that something had come up. He figured they'd be heading back to the bunker before the weeks' end. He wasn't sure what had possessed him to suggest seeing one other again let alone agreeing to go to her apartment for dinner. He convinced himself he would forget about her soon enough, just like all the other one-night-wonders.
"You're not?" Sam challenged raising his eyebrow. Dean shook his head.
"No, I don't even know why I mentioned it." He said bluntly. Sam nodded in approval as they continued to walk their way back to the car.
Once back at the motel Dean made his way to the bathroom in silence. He undressed as the water heated up and steam filled the small space. He stood under the stream of water and closed his eyes tightly in an attempt to clear his mind, rubbing his face as he breathed in the steam. He washed up quickly as he decided what to do with his evening. He got dressed and exited the bathroom. He put his boots on before grabbing his phone and keys off the nightstand. He could feel Sam watching him as he made his way to the door
"I'm going to the bar for a drink. Call me if you find anything." He stated before opening the door and making his way to the Impala.
He was grateful that the parking lot wasn't too full. He crawled out of the car and walked quickly inside. Once in the building he found a seat bar and planted himself there.
"Beer and a shot of your strongest whiskey." He mumbled to the bartender. He glanced up at the large flatscreen television paying some random football game. He nodded at the bartender as he sat his drinks down in front of him. As he reached for his shot, he felt someone softly caress his shoulder and bicep. Looking over to his right he saw a blonde woman with bright red lipstick grinning at him seductively. He smiled weakly back at her.
"You here all alone, handsome?" She asked with a wink. He nodded in response. She was the typical barfly he was lucky enough to pick up on occasion.
"Wanna come with me?" She giggled softly. He looked her up and down. She would do. He grabbed his shot tossing it back as he felt the liquid lightly burn its way down to his stomach. He stood up taking out his wallet and tossed some money on the bar. He nodded grabbing his beer taking a large gulp. She grabbed his free hand and lead him to the men's restroom.
She lead him through the door as she continued to giggle obnoxiously, hurting his ear drums slightly. He set his beer on a small metal shelf above the sink and turned to her. Pressing herself into his body, she ran her hands over his chest, settling on his shoulders. He grabbed her hips backing her up into the wall behind them. Leaning down he pressed his lips to hers. She smashed their lips tighter together and lightly and dug her thick fake nails into the nape of his neck. He could feel his stomach churn as he began to taste her lipstick. The mixture of it and whatever alcohol she had consumed that evening was nauseating. She removed her hand from his neck and shoulder and made her way down his body. He pulled away, backing into the sink, as he felt her undo his belt.
"Whoa." He coughed holding his hand out as she took a step toward him.
"What's wrong?" She asked.
"Get out." He said quietly, almost a whisper, staring at the ugly tile on the bathroom floor.
"Excuse me?" She hissed.
"Get. The fuck. Out." He growled at her turning his back to her, facing the sink.
"Fuck you, buddy." She scoffed exiting the bathroom, her heels scraping against the tile.
"Yeah, you wish." He said to no one. Gripping the sides of the sink, he looked up at his reflection in disgust. He turned on the faucet and cupped some cool water in his hand, bringing it to his lips. He scrubbed his mouth roughly getting rid of the red stain around his lips. Cupping more water in both hands he rinsed his face. He grabbed his beer and took a drink swishing it around in his mouth before spitting it back out into the sink. Bringing the bottle to his lips once more, he finished the beer with a gulp. He tossed the bottle in the garbage can with a metallic clank. Sighing, he grabbed some paper towel, drying off his face. He re-fastened his belt quickly.
He walked out of the bathroom and made his way out into the cool night air. He inhaled deeply as he slid into the driver's seat off his car. He backed out of the parking lot quickly gripping the steering wheel tightly. He went on autopilot as he drove around the town. When he finally felt himself exhale, he was parked outside of Olivia's apartment building.
