I wrap up all of the tests and throw them away and creep into the guest room so no one sees me, because it's obvious I've been crying. After David's meeting with Elliot, he comes in and crawls in bed next to me. "Feeling better?" He asks and lays his head on my lap. "Not really," I reply and he smiles. "Let's keep this a secret," I say and he nods. "If that's what you want," he says and I know he doesn't want to. "At least until we know I won't miscarry," I say and he has the most scared look. "Don't say that," he snaps. "David, every pregnancy isn't perfect," I say and run my fingers through his long hair. "Yes but yours will be," he says and I just go along with it. "We have to make a nursery, that's gonna be fun," David says and I start going through everything that will need to be done, but he's right, the nursery will be fun. That night David sleeps in the bed with me because I can't stop myself from crying and he comforts me. When I wake up he's propped up on his elbow staring at me. "What are you doing?" I ask and kiss his nose. "Just admiring how beautiful you are," he says and I blush. "There it is, you're so cute," he says and kisses me. David has always thought me blushing was the best thing ever, I'm not sure why. "Let's go out for brunch, just you and I," He says and I check the time and it's only 9 AM. "I'm giving you time for morning sickness," he says and we both laugh. As I'm brushing my teeth, the nausea hits me and I puke a few times and it's over with. I pick out a black oversized sweater with leather leggings and a pair of white Nike's and throw my hair into a messy ponytail. When I walk into David's room he is playing a video game with his brother. "Hey beautiful," he says and motions for me to sit beside him. "David!!" His mom calls before I can even sit down. "Yes?" David yells back and she comes in with her hand behind her back. "Come here," she says to us both and David and I walk with her to the guest room that I'm staying in. "Is this a prank?" She asks and pulls a positive pregnancy test from behind her back. David and I exchange glances and his mom is just waiting for someone to say something. "Corinne's pregnant," David blurts out and his mom is shocked. "But we are excited about it and we know it's going to be a challenge but we are ready for it," David says and squeezes my hand so I won't cry. "Congratulations," She says and unexpectedly pulls me into a hug with tears in her eyes. "I thought you were going to be mad," David says and he's emotional, a quality I love about him. "You are a grown man, and you have a lovely partner, what more could a baby need?" She asks and hugs David tightly. "When are you going to tell your father?" She asks and David shrugs. "You are the first person to know, so I'll tell dad before we head back to LA," David says and she kisses us both on the cheek and goes back to cleaning. "Ready to eat?" David asks and I eagerly nod as we rush downstairs and into the car. "I want pizza, like the one that's famous in Chicago," I say and David just shakes his head. "You mean deep dish? This is disappointing Corinne," he mutters. "Shut up! I've never been here before!" I tease and he laughs. "I'll take you to my favorite pizza place," he says and holds my hand. We get to the restaurant and a few girls as to take pictures with David so I take them for them and then we are finally seated. David orders the pizza and my mouth is literally watering from the smell in the restaurant. "I'm literally so hungry, I could die," I say and David rolls his eyes. "Well I would really appreciate it if you didn't," He says and I giggle. The pizza comes out and I bite it and it literally tastes like heaven. "David- I am not kidding, this is the best thing I have ever put in my mouth," I say with my eyes closed, being dramatic. "Better than sushi?" He asks, knowing it's my favorite food. "Yes, way better," I say and he just laughs. We talk about Chicago and I can't focus because he is smacking on his food which he knows I hate. "David, I am not trying to start an argument-" I say but he interrupts me. "I have to smack it's deep dish!" He says and I roll my eyes. "Am I smacking when I eat it? No," I point out and he rolls his eyes back. "Well why can't I eat it the way I like to?" He asks. "David I said I didn't want to start an argument," I say quietly so we don't draw attention to ourselves. "Well can I smack this one time?" He asks and I shake my head but I can't help but smile. "So what's the plan with the whole pregnancy thing? I think we should see a doctor here since we are staying here for so long," he changes the subject. David wanted us to stay here for Christmas and visit my family for New Years, which is fine but now I just want to go back to LA, but I know we can't. "That's probably best," I mutter and he smiles. "Alright I'll find one right now," he says and pulls out his phone and calls a number. After a few minutes he hangs up and we have an appointment set for later that day. "Wait, you haven't drank have you?" He asks and I shrug. "I don't know how long I've even been pregnant!" I say and he panics. "David it's fine," I say and grasp his hands. "You're right, our baby is fine," he says and kisses me and someone clears their throat. I look up and a girl wearing clickbait merch is standing there. "How long have you been there for?" David asks and she smiles. "Just a moment, can I have a picture?" She asks and David is annoyed, I can tell just by his facial expression. "Yeah," he agrees anyways and takes a selfie with her. She walks away and he rolls his eyes and I giggle. Jason calls and David ignores it. Jason has been nagging David lately about being distant and David has just been blowing him off, making it worse. "Don't you think you shouldn't ignore him?" I ask as we walk to David's car. "I've always told him that when I find the girl of my dreams I will be distant, it's not my fault he doesn't listen," David says and I roll my eyes. "Last time I checked I'm not Gigi Hadid," I mutter and he laughs. "Yeah you're better," he says and slaps my butt and runs and gets in the car. "David!" I say and look around and an old lady is shaking her head. "That's so embarrassing," I say and he is just laughing. "Alright let's go to the doctor so I can cry there too," I say and he shakes his head. "I'm excited," he says and squeezes my hand, his enthusiasm sort of balances out my worry.
