As we walk into the doors to the doctor's office, David squeezes pulls me closer to his body, I know he's nervous but he would never tell me that. He pulls out his camera as we check in and he's just kind of filming everything secretly. I give him a weird look and he shrugs. "Just for us," he reassures me. As we sit there in the waiting room I feel tears burning in the back of my eyes and I'm nervously tapping my leg. David gently kisses my cheek as his way of calming me down and I just rest my head on his shoulder and wipe my tears before they can fall. "I know you probably think I'm not excited but I really am, it's just overwhelming," I whisper and he shakes his head. "Darling, I understand every emotion you are feeling," he says and kisses me again. "Corinne!" The lady calls and David and I walk back into the room and she asks a few questions and then has me pull up my shirt and applies to gel to my stomach. I grasp David's hand as he videos the process. As soon as she puts the little camera down, the heartbeat starts blasting through the machine and I look over at David and we are both crying. "Wow that was fast," she says and moves it around some more and the screen shows a clearly defined baby. "Wow you are pretty far along for this to be your first visit," she says and I panic. "Is that a bad thing? I didn't find out until yesterday and we-" I ramble until she cuts me off. "It's fine, I'm sure the doctor will just get you started with your prenatal care, would you like to know the gender?" She asks and my jaw drops. "Let's wait until birth," David says and I just go along with it because I'm just too upset that she can already tell the gender. She leaves the room and I turn to David and he is grinning from ear to ear. "Why are we waiting to know?" I ask and he shrugs. "I just thought it would be fun," he says and I decide I don't like the idea. "But then we can't buy the right clothes," I say and he shakes his head. "Yeah but we can just buy them afterwards and have a few outfits for the first week that both genders can wear," He says and he's right, it could be fun. The doctor comes in and introduces himself and explains that I'm not very far along, two months, the nurse could just tell the gender way earlier than usual. "Does that mean it's a boy?" I ask and the doctors shakes his head. "Not necessarily, you said you just started getting morning sickness this week?" He asks and he seems concerned. "Yes... is that bad?" I ask and he shrugs. "It's unusual, but all of your tests look good, I'll prescribe your prenatal vitamins and send you on your way," He says and shakes our hands again and leaves. "Are you feeling better?" David asks and grabs my hand and kisses it. "Yes honey," I reassure him and he smiles. After the doctors appointment we go and pick up my many vitamins and head to dinner with Ilya. "So," Ilya says and David ignores him. "Cmon are you pregnant or not?" He asks me and David nods. "Yeah," He says nonchalantly and Ilya freaks out. "Dude congrats guys!" He says and David breaks his act. "It's sick right??" David exclaims and they hug tightly before Ilya hugs me as well. "We have a surprise for you," David says and I notice Ilya is videoing. "What is it?" I ask and someone taps my shoulder. I look up and Angel is standing there and I immediately burst into tears and jump up and hug her. David knows how much I miss home, and this is honestly such a shock. We hug for the longest time and I wipe my face off because I'm a mess. "I've missed you so much," i say over and over as she takes a seat beside Ilya and across from me. "Oh I'm pregnant!" I say and her jaw drops. "What?" She asks and her face turns white. "Don't pass out, but I'm pregnant," I repeat and hold her hand. "How far along?" She asks, leaning over the table to view my stomach that isn't even showing a bump. "About a month," I reply and she starts crying. "Is that a sad cry or a happy cry?" David asks and she laughs, indicating that they are happy tears. We hug again and she hugs David as well. "Wow this is a lot," she says and we all laugh. "How long are you here for?" I ask and she tells me it's just for the weekend. "I got us all bulls tickets," David says and I'm impressed with his planning. "Thank you honey," I say and kiss him. "Alright enough mushy stuff... can we eat?" Ilya asks and we all just laugh and honestly have a great meal together. The weekend with angel was a blur, we shopped a lot, went to the basketball game, and then did some sight seeing, and just like that she was gone again, but my homesickness was cured for now.
