. . .

( |Rian <3 | is calling)

. . .

"Rian?"

"Hey. Um, are you in your bedroom?"

"Yeah, why?"

*a faint sound, a small object clinking against glass*

"... did you just throw a pebble at my window?"

"Yeah. There were no pebbles in your front yard so I stole some from your neighbors... have you ever seen pink pebbles? 'Cause I haven't."

*nervous laughter*

"What are you doing here?"

"Well, since you couldn't come over yesterday, I figured I would. I mean, if you're not busy or anything."

"Oh. Um... well, I'm--"

*a loud thud, and then the sound of crinkling paper*

"Ow! Those textbooks are heavy! Val, what the--"

"Luce, you okay?"

*some kind of unintelligible whispering*

words caught from said unintelligible whispering: "I thought you didn't like him...I don't want--...to be freaked--...I am NOT a--...you're so bipolar--... fine!" (the last word said loudly, with a pretty harsh tone of voice)

"Uh... Luce?"

"Sure, Rian, come on up. My lovely sister is opening the front door." (the part about her sister is said with a not so subtle tone of sarcasm)

"Um, okay. But I really wouldn't want to come in if you don't--"

he's interrupted by another voice on his end: "Rian, get the fuck in here will you!"

sounding slightly distant, as if he lowered the cellphone to not sound too loud: "Hello to you too, Val!"

close again, normal volume: "...I'll be right up, I guess."

(Call ended)
