The tree of knowledge on my shoulder allowed me a similar ability to Edwards, I could read into anyone's thoughts, intentions or past. When I returned it was almost Christmas and Jacob caught me up to speed on a vision Alice had where the volturi were coming to destroy Renesmee and the Cullen's. I was on board from the start, he told me there was a bunch of vampires right now gathered at their house to witness that Renesmee wasn't doing anything wrong by living or something like that. When Bella told me she assumed the day before the fight was, I stole Jacob from his wolf training.
"So glad the others can't hear your thoughts anymore "
He snickered and pushed me gently against my closet doors. I had easily convinced my mom to take a vacation and go visit some random ocean with tourist tickets and hotel passes. The house was empty so I felt no shame in pushing Jacob to my bed and kissing him back. The next morning I wanted to stay in bed all day, but Jacob had already gotten up and was making me pancakes.
"Jacooooooob"
I groaned out and he popped into my room with a lovesick smile on his face. I was sat up with my sheets covering me
"Come here please"
He raised an eyebrow but walked over to me and I grabbed his face, and kissed him, he had to lean on the bed and kissed me back.
"Are you sure you don't want to sit this battle out?"
"Are you?"
He sighed
"Jake, I've been trained for battle I promise I'll be careful"
Jacob had been given the task of taking care of Renesmee, which included taking her away to live by each other if we all died, which wouldn't happen. He kissed me again and let me get up and ready for battle. I put on black leggings and a black tight tank top, which showed all my tattoos. Showing them all was going to be necessary if I wanted to use their power, as I hadn't been able to figure out how to pull them through clothing yet. I pulled my hair up and fixed my charm bracelet. I walked out into the kitchen, jacob pulling me into an embrace that had his arm around my waist and mine above his shoulders, he quickly lifted me up so I was sitting on the counter and he handed me a plate of food.
"Can't fight on an empty stomach"
"Did you est?"
"Yes mama I did"
And he pecked my lips in a quick kiss. We walked together, hand in hand, to the field with everyone else.
"What is she doing here?"
Edward announced.
"She is fighting for your child"
I responded and let Jacob turn into a wolf. I stood in the front ready to spring into action despite Edwards protests. Soon the volturi showed up and scanned the crowd, only slightly gasping upon coming face to face with me
"A mermaid, I haven't fought your kind in quite some time"
"I look forward to it"
The Cullen's were a bit taken back to learn I was a mermaid but quickly had to put it behind them as Carlisle started talking about peace. That conversation quickly ended with is head being pulled off. As everyone began running and Jacob left the scene with Renesmee I flashed out my trident from my tattoo using water and placed it on my shoulder like a natural gun, using my good aim eye I began shooting down vampire after vampire, only after they got too close to me I started using my camouflage powers to look exactly like a random member of the volturi, at least to the volturi. To them I was betraying their trust and killing them when they hesitated, to the vampires and wolves I was easily brushing through them and catching them off guard. Only when the ground split open did I lose my focus on the illusion and volturi started going after me again, and I was forced to use my trident and the water from their bodies to melt them from the inside, stab them and pry off their head and other ways of death all ending in fire. The vision ended with Aros head being pulled off a burned and I smirked at Alice, knowing we just won without losing all we did in her vision, aro backed off and when everyone left the Cullen's questioned me about my powers and being a mermaid, and after explaining to them I spent the rest of the day with Jacob, just sitting in his arms. Later on he applied to college and I to the military, but even with all that time apart when he ended and got a good job still in Forks I ended my tour in Iraq and came home to him.
