Fall City Asylum
"There are bad people listening and they will find a way to hurt me even though I am dead." she paused for a moment looking around
"what were the questions you wanted to ask?"
My mind started to go a million miles per hour wondering who the bad people were and how even after you were dead and a ghost that you could still be hurt. There were so many questions I wanted to ask so many wonders of the asylum, what death was like, and what her last moments on earth were like. I quickly cleared my throat and regained my composure, preparing myself for all the questions I was about to ask
"Well, I wanted to start with why did you wander into the asylum?"
She looks at me again being out in the sunlight makes it much harder to see her but my eyes start to adjust. The look she gave me was more out of confusion than anything else.
"I didn't wander into the asylum I was climbing a tree and these scary men in white coats came and dragged me away into that godforsaken building." Her voice was filled with such sorrow and agony I don't think it's something I'd ever be able to truly understand.Taken? I thought she wandered into the asylum and got lost, as did everyone for the past decade.
"Taken? So your parents put you in here, why? Everyone thinks that you wandered into the asylum and that you were mistaken as one of the patients."
"Wait! No one knows that I was taken away?" The anger in the small girl's voice was utterly frightening.
Tara and her petite angelic features became the very epitome of rage.
"N-no the whole town has been passing on the story of how you disappeared after wandering to this place. Do you know why you were taken here?" My brain became full of confusion and curiosity I suddenly craved the true story and answers like a starving animal craves its prey.
