CAPITAL HIGH SCHOOL 99'

"Why am I going ?"  I took a sharp bit mean glare at my fiance'. It was the Senior's Banquet at the school I worked at. You would think my husband would be more appreciative of my things as well as I am to his.

I woke up every day for the past eight months and went to the same school and worked in the same things. A school who was considered "slow and full off future convicts and welfare checks" the end of stare test percentile went up in the ninth and tenth grades. And who was that because of?

Me. Marsai Roberts-O'Grady. That's who.

Grasping onto my pink fur-covered wheel, I tried to get myself back into the good mood I was once in. Kenneth can nag and complain about coming with me all he wants but he won't ruin my good mood.

My mind kept drifting off to the summer that I could use towards myself. With school, trying to finish the rest of my school year in Education I hadn't been able to spoil and cater to myself.

Soon enough, I was pulling into the half-full parking lot of the Wellness Center. This would be our largest graduating class since 84' and I was more than happy to be there.

Turning the ignition off. His phone went off and I smacked my teeth. As much as I love his little ringtone, I would like to have one night where I could not have to hear that ringing all night.

"Kenneth, can you please leave that in the car tonight? I want to enjoy this." He glared at me and smacked his teeth even worse than mine.

"Mars shut up with all that. You know my schedule. If you didn't want to hear the phone ring, you shouldn't have force me to come. It's just a damn school with kids. I didn't even know they were gonna' graduate." He stuffed his phone back into his dark dress pants and opened my car door, getting out.

I rolled my eyes and opened the door for myself. Letting my black velvet dress hang to my heels. I brought a new dress that I had been staring at for so long.

It hugged the right places and it went right with my heels. If Kenneth didn't want to compliment me or give any PDA, I'd be fine. It's not like he made me heat up anywhere anyway.

It's only one person that could do it the way I liked anyway.

I locked my doors and walked in front of Kenneth who found himself back on his phone. I opened the door for myself and the first face to look at me was Cedric or as he stood beside his brother.

"Ms.O'Grady! Don't you look good tonight." I smiled and gave him a side hug which must've triggered Kenneth.

"Who this baby?" I raised an eyebrow to his hands wrapping around my waist. Joel caught on and began to swirl whatever substance that was in his cup and sipped it.
