“What I mean is that lying can have good intentions.”
“Some people lie in order to save someone from danger; some lie to keep someone from being hurt; some lie for fun.”
“What do you mean for fun?”
“Your parents lying to you about Santa Claus and Tooth Fairy.”
“It's for amusement.”
“Now I realize how wrong lying could be even with good intentions.”
“It's because it can give you false hope.”
“Hurt me with the truth, but never comfort me with a lie, like what the saying says.”
“I guess it's better that way.”
“Anyway, what's the biggest lie that you've told someone?”
“That you're just my best friend.”
“That I said I would sleep early but now I'm here.”
“Seriously?”
“Yeah.”
“What's yours?”
“That I will never like you because it's gross.”
