Jet Pack Blues(Fangs Fogarty)

Chapter one

Today's the day: the south side is coming to Riverdale. I'm actually pretty excited, no one else is though. Maybe that's because I had a summer fling with one of the serpents, Fangs. My dad has just finished yelling at me, so I went to Sweetwater River, and he was there. And we talked. And then I fell for him. Y'all know the story. It was a secret, of course. I didn't want my dad to find out. He'd ground for till college(if you get that reference comment). I didn't tell my brother, when he's dating a serpent himself, Joaquin. Fangs knows a lot about me, and I him. But we ended it when school started. I had my duties as a Rivervixon, and he had his gang. I'm co-captan on the cheer team. Cheryl is the self appointed"HBIC", and I'm basically her 'best friend' but I get along better with Betty Cooper. And I've kinda been dating Reggie for about a month, but I still like Fangs.

I walk into the bathroom to do my hair. I just twist a part of it out of my face . I throw on my light washed jeans, a baby blue shirt and pale pink cardigan.
"Come on Maya! We gotta go" I hear Kevin yell.
I throw on my glasses and tie my combat boots and run down the stairs
"Ready?"
"Yep" I say climbing into his truck.

I decide to help Veronica set up the table with everyone's schedules on them.
"Will Reggie get mad that you're helping?" She asks
"Probably. I gotta go find him." I say
"Reg!" I say when I see him in the hall
"Hey babe" he says, wrapping his arm around my waist
"We got Southside scum to take care of" he says, leading me down the stairs, hand in hand
"Can't we start with a new slate?" I hear Archie say
"You don't speak for the Bulldogs, Andrews. And may I remind you that this greaser snakes came to your house and fought you?" Reggie says, his grip on my hand getting tighter when he sees fangs staring.
"Happy to finish what we started" the tall one says, stepping up. Fangs has to pull him back, as Arch does the same to Reg.
"Reggie just leave it" I say
"Why should I?" He snaps, but his face softens when he looks at me
"Cause then you won't be able to play basketball" I say
"Fine" He says
"I'll see you later" he says, kissing my forehead.

We walk into the student lounge with 4 of the serpents
"Hey Jug!" I say, hugging him
"Hi Maya." He says, sitting down.
I sit next to Kev as he asks Fangs for his name
"Fogarty. But you can call me Fangs. Last name's Keller right?" He asks
"How'd you know?"
My eyes go wide
"Joaquin and I use to hang out. He talked about you all the time"  he answers
Thank god.
"Babe!" Reggie yells into the lounge
"Coming!" I say, adjusting my glasses and wrapping my cardigan tight around me.
"Look what they did"
On the bulldogs logo is a serpent.
"That's impossible. They were in the lounge with me"
"Well someone did it." He says
"This isn't gonna be pretty" I say
Weatherbee then pulls them out to the hall, and tells them that nothing gang related will be allowed in school, earning a smirk from Reg.
"I gotta go to math. Are we still on for tonight?" He asks
"Of course" I say, kissing his cheek.
When Reggie out of sight, and it's just me and Fangs he asks
"When did you two happen?"
"About a month ago."
"I mean it makes sense. Football player, basketball star, dating a cheerleader"
"Just be quiet." I say, walking away.

After school, I meet Reggie in the lounge. Where Fangs and his best friend, who I learned to be Sweet Pea, are.
"Are this snakes bothering you?" Is the first thing he says
"No, they're just waiting for a friend, I think." I say.
"Ready?"
"Yeah." I say, sighing.
Yeah, I like fangs but I could never be with him. My dad would kill me. And if Reggie found out, he'd kill me too.

Reggie and I just went to Pops, like we normally do. It's the only place open after his football practice and my cheerleading practice.
"How was your day?" I ask, sipping on my milkshake
"Fine. Basketball tryouts are tomorrow and word has it that those two snakes are going to join" he says
"They have names. They're people too" I whisper
"What was that?"
"Nothing" I say. I hate fighting with him.
"Josie wants me" He says out of the blue
"What?"
"I told her no. That I'm with you" He says
"She wants you?"
"Yeah. We dated before us happened and she wants me back"
"Take me home" I say
"What?"
"Reggie please take me home"
"Okay okay" He says, paying for our food.

"I love you" He says as he pulls into my driveway
"I love you too" I say, kissing him
"Pick you up for cheer practice tomorrow? 7:00 right?"
"Yep. I'll see you then" I say, getting out of his car.

I wait until I know my dad and brother is asleep, and I climb out of my second story window, which is hard. I make my way to the river when I see a motorcycle.
I start to walk away when I hear
"There's my princess"
It's fangs
"Hi Fangs." I say, sitting next to him
"Hi Maya. Why are you here?"
"Reggie. Apparently Josie wants him back and he thought it was ok to tell me that." I say
"I'm sorry. I'm also sorry for what I said in the hall"
"Me too." I say
"Can I be honest?"
I nod
"It's hard seeing you with Reggie or hearing you talk about him."
"I'm sorry.."
"It's fine. I know we can never be together"
"We can.. I just don't want my dad to ground me so we can't see each other"
"I know." He says, leaning in
Without thinking, I kiss him. It feels like home.
"I'm sorry I shouldn't have-"
"It's fine, Maya" he says
"I should get going." I say. It's 1:30 am, meaning my dad will be up soon.
"Let me drive you?"
"Your motorcycle is bound to wake my dad and brother up. But you can walk with me." I say
He nods as we start walking. The walk back to my house isn't that long.
"I'll see you tomorrow?"
"Yeah. Fangs? If I don't say hello to you at school tomorrow, please don't take it personal" I say
"It's fine, I get it" He says, walking off
"Wait!" I say, but it's too late.
