(I couldn't find much on Caustic things, so I picked one or two things off of https://www.quora.com/What-is-a-caustic-personality for this, I didn't mention a lot of the main events as I tried to keep it focused on Martin and Melwen. (Keyword: Tried.) This is kind of short because I forgot to write down most of what I thought for this, and I kept getting distracted. ^^" Sorry... That and my pen was being a pain in the butt... More reasons at the end...)
Martin wasn't overly fond of Melwen at first, due... the prickly side of her personality.
Over time he does grow fond of her as she opens up little by little/more and more.
He mostly doesn't notice any insulting, or sarcastic, comments she makes towards him and he doesn't taken them to heart when he does. He brushes them off whenever he does notice them and has only taken a few to heart, he'll try to cover any negative remarks Melwen makes towards someone else up.
If she mentions that she is a runaway noble he won't question her much and won't pressure her into answering him. Although he WILL NOT tolerate anyone pressuring her into answering them or telling them why she ran off.
He didn't really seem to notice her softer side until one morning when he went to go return an item she dropped, walking out of the main doors of Cloud Ruler Temple only to see her doing -insert activity- and humming while she was doing said activity. He thinks back to that memory frequently whenever she's not around.
(I forgot to add in hard shelled and softie type things when I first was writing the request out and ended up redoing it but lost the most of what I had for it, so this ended up being shorter than I wanted it to be. I was out of my house when I woke up and ended up working on this at around 1: 10 or something, and most of what (little) I had thought up while I was out was forgotten anyway. Honestly I'm surprised I actually didn't have to take a long ass time to do this request, although most of the time was wasted on trying to figure out what to do with the "Caustic" stuff. Taught me not to search up meanings of the words only. Sorry if this didn't turn out or didn't meet your expectations. <3)
