I asked Steve not to tell the others what I had tried to do and he reluctantly agreed. Though I have a feeling he told Thor, judging by the sad looks he gave me every time he saw me for the rest of the day.

The afternoon was compiled of test of my powers that up until today I had no idea I even had. Bruce would ask me to focus my energy and try to do something like make a flower wilt or duplicate something. It was strange because it seemed like everything he asked me to do I was capable of doing, like he already knew the powers I had.

"Ok Hel, now I want you to try to change you appearance to look like another member of the team." Bruce said while typing into his computer.

I looked down at my bony frame in black jeans and white Tshirt. I bring my hand up to touch my skull necklace which still sits around my neck like always. I closed my eyes and thought of Natasha and how beautiful she was. clenching my fists I imagine her heart shaped face and curvy figure and feel my long ebony hair changing to her short red.

When I open my eyes I look in the reflection of all the glass equipment and see Natasha looking back at me, and then the reflections changing back to my skeletal frame and pale face.

"Good! I think that's it for today. Here I think there is someone who still wants to talk to you before you get your new room." Bruce said as he opened the door to let in the hulking blonde Thor.

"Oh, hi there." I say as I take a seat on a nearby stool and stare at my shoes.

"Hello Hela, look I just came to-"

"I think it's best of you just call me Hel like all the others, I would say call me Helena but I'm so confused right now about what's the truth I think the nick name is the best bet" I say interrupting him.

"Very well, Hel, I think that firstly I owe you an apology and second an explanation." Thor says sad he pulls up a stool and sits across from me.

"An explanation for what?" I ask, finally looking up to meet his gaze.

"And explanation of your past, Hela-I'm sorry, Hel, I am your uncle."

I stared at him for what seemed like forever " It can't be! I'm... I'm an orphan, I don't have a family! And you, your from Asgard or wherever! You are my uncle? then where are my parents? why did they give me up? did I do something wrong?" All these questions pour out of my mouth as my mind races to try and process this. Thor chuckles slightly at my sudden peak of interest "Slow down young one! Yes I am your uncle, and yes you are from Asgard, like me and like your mother and father."

At the mention of my parents my mood lowers "Why did they send me to earth?" I ask quietly.

"It is a long story, I will tell you my dear but please just, as you say, hear me out, and then I will answer any questions you still, I promise you." He says solemnly.

"Ok" I say, focusing on Thor's face as he takes a deep breath and begins.

"When you were born, all of Asgard was excited! A new member of the royal family! The weeks leading up to your birth were riddled with celebrations! Your father, my younger brother, and you mother were receiving the blessing of the entire kingdom. Your grandfather and grandmother decided that your father would take over the throne once you were born so that their first grandchild would be king or queen.

When your mother went into labour, there were some... complications.

Your powers, they were there from the moment you were born. The pain of your birth caused them to ignite and the nurse who delivered you was accidentally killed as well as.... As well as your mother. We told the kingdom that it was simply an accident but Odin, your grandfather was concerned for the future of the kingdom, no one knew if you would ever be able to control the power that had taken our future queen. So it was decided, that a spell would be used to block your powers until the time that you would be capable of controlling them and you were sent to earth. We all decided that it would be safest if you group up away from the sadness that seemed to follow you on Asgard..."

Thor went quiet for a few moments, he wouldn't look at me and stayed silent. Why wasn't he answering the one questions he knew I need the answer to so desperately? After a few minutes of sitting I silence I finally cave and ask...

"And what about my father?"

When Thor looks at me he looks like he might start to cry.

"Your father. His name is Loki and is skilled in magic just like you. He does not have your caring was however. Nor your sensitivity, those came from you mother...he loved you more then life itself. You were on Asgard for a little over a year before you were brought here, you had just learned you first words. 'Papa!' Anytime he wasn't in your sights you would stare at whoever was near and ask 'papa?' even though he never left you for more then ten minutes or so at once." Thor chucked softly, smiling to himself at the memory. "When you were first born, for a week my brother avoided you though. He was mourning your mother and couldn't bring himself to accept you. Then one day, your grandmother and I were out in the garden with you, you were lying on your back on a blanket while we sat next to you on a bench and discussed training. You were already so skilled at magic. You had multiplied this small butterfly so there where hundreds! then all of a sudden we heard someone chuckling behind us and turned to see your father. Neither of us could say anything and you couldn't stop smiling! he walked over and carefully picked you up and held you in his arms while he made sparkles and lights appear. 'Your mother would love you." he said softly. He came and sat with us and held you in his arms all day. after that he was always with you, you were his angel, I had only ever seen one person make him so happy and that was your mother."

I could feel tears welling up in my eyes, knowing that I had a loving family out there who had let me go, why had my father let then take me?

"Why did he let them take me away?" I question slowly, fearing the answer.

"He didn't... when my brother heard Odins plan to send you away he ran to find you in your nursery but you had already been taken over the Bifrost. Your grandfather knew he would do anything to keep you with him, so he sent me ahead to take you before he could stop me. as we crossed the bridge you yelled as loud as your tiny lungs could manage, 'PAPA! PAPA!' It broke my heart but I knew it was for the best. Your father never fully forgave me though, and he never stopped searching for you."

I can't stop staring at Thor, my own uncle, who took me away from my father....

"And he finally found you. And that's why it's not safe for you here. Hel, your father is changed, he isn't the same kindhearted mischievous boy I knew. He found you and saw how badly you were being treated here on Midgard and wants revenge. And you. he just wants his daughter back but the years of missing you have changed him.."

After a few minutes I finally speak up. I look directly at my uncle and say "Where is my father now?"

Thor looks down and won't meet my gaze but after taking a deep breath says "He's on this ship."
