i sat in class, my mind somewhere else and not on what the teacher was saying in front of me.

i never realized jack was in my class before now.

but i could feel his stare on me burning through the back of my head but i refused to look his way.

"now the groups" my teacher said breaking my trance.

what groups?

i looked over at alex who was sitting next to me.

"what groups?" i whisperes.

"doing a group powerpoint for our end of of year assignmemt" she whispered back.

i nodded.

"okay.. alex, kelsey and mateo"

great now i've got no friends in my group.

"next is.." i turned him out as he called out other students.

"last group.. emmalyn rivera and jack gilinsky. we don't have anyone else so you guys will just work together" he said.

fun. i love it.

alex knee abouy everything with jack, she gave me a sympathetic smile saying sorry.

i ignored it and leaned back in my desk sighing.

i really wished i was dead in this moment.

the door then opened.

i looked up and saw nate walk in.

why? what's he doing?

"hello, mr. simm. this is my class" nate said handing him his paper.

"qappears so, maloley" he said giving him a hard look.

"where should i sit?" nate have a smile.

all the girls always gushed over nate. but i never let them bother me when we were together.

"take a sit maloley. i don't have times for your childish games" simms said obviously aggravated.

"okay everyone get with your groups" he called.

"what groups? i don't have a group" nate said.

i was getting hopeful, he would put nate with us but he also knew me and nates history so i didn't know if he'd actually do it.

last year in his class, we worked together and all we did was goof off and he got mad and separated us for the rest of the year.

he looked at me. "can you handle it?"

"i can" i smiled.

"okay, nate just get with emmalyn and jack"

"thank you, sir!" nate said.

"move" the teacher called.

i gave alex a real smile this time and walked to the back group which was where jack was at.

but he didn't seem very happy about his group.

we all three sat down across from each other

"so" i said trying to lighten the mood as i could see jack glaring at nate.

i'm sure nate noticed.

"i'll get the paper" jack said and got up.

"what's his problem?" nate asked me.

"nothing, i'm sure" i shrugged.

i hated to lie to him but i didn't want to worry him on something that didn't need to be worried about.

"so what's this project on anyways?"

"we have to make a powerpoint on romeo and juliet play" i smiled.

"okay sure" he smiled.

i grabbed the paper giving the instructions on the powerpoint from simms desk.

i turned around and saw nate and emmy sitting side by side and both smiling.

it kind of hurt, because i didn't want them to be happy, i wanted them to be unhappy because i'm so much better for her than he is but she refuses to see that

"hey, jack" a girl said.

i turned and saw stas. she's been going to our school since like elementary so i'm familiar with her.

"hey" i said back.

"i met her at the hospital. i work for her dad. she seems nice, and nate treats her good you know. you don't have to hate him"

"who said i feel that way?" i asked glancing at her face.

"your face. you are literally killing him with your eyes."

"whatever, i'm fine" i said ignoring her statement and walked back to my group.

i sighed before reaching.

i sat down in front of the two and put the packet down.

"you know how to use powerpoint?" emmy asked me.

"yeah" i said like it was obvious.

"we can all divide the research questions for today" she said.

"sounds great" nate said.

"jack?" i broke out my glaring and looked at emmy, my expression going soft again at her.

"that okay with you?" she asked me.

"oh. yeah, yeah that's fine." i said.

"cool" she said and then she divided them for nate and then me

i walked out class as fast as i could, i made my way down the hallway.

it was lunch but i wasn't gonna go to that cafeteria.

i didn't bother, just headed for the exit.

"wait a second!" i would know that voice anywhere.

i turned around and emmy was standing in front of me.

"are you okay?" she asked me.

"yeah, why?"

"it just- you seemed upset in class. is it because of what i said?"

"no." i said. "nothings wrong and it definetly had nothing to do with you okay? so just drop it" i said and pushed open the door walking outside.

i let the door close behind me, putting emmy's face behind me forgetting all about her.

i just worried on the facts, that she would never realize how bad that doofus was for her

she too blind to see it, i just need to make her believe and i will
