"you want to go now?" nate whispered.

"uh huh" i said.

we started to make our way back to his car whenever i felt someone grab me.

my first instinct was to kick.

but when i saw madison's black hair flow in front of my face.

"what the hell" nate exclaimed.

madison let go of me but she instantly pushed me against the wall.

"madison, what are you doing?" i asked her.

"you took him from me! you took jack," she said.

"no, you're crazy"

"i saw you at the store. you were watching him!" she yelled in my face.

i pushed her off me.

"no. you're crazy. i'm not interested in jack" i said.

"really? then why did you tell him to break up with me?!" she exclaimed.

my eyes went to nate who was looking at me with confusion and a little bit of hurt.

"you did?" nate asked.

"it's not like that" i muttered.

nate turned around.

"nate" i called and pushed madison off me.

but it was no use as i felt a pain hit in the back of my head before i felt my legs get out.

i felt a scream escape my throat as i started to fall.

it felt like slow motion.

i saw nate turn around quickly. "emma!"

he's the only one who has ever called me emma but i feel dead.

i knew i was gonna hit the ground and i felt it coming.

only it didn't, because nate grabbed me before my head could hit the ground

"emma" he said softly. "are you okay?"

i opened my eyes fully now, looking up at him.

"ow" i said, chuckling.

he took a deep breath and then smiled down at me.

"you're crazy" he said.

i reached behind my head and pulled my hand back and saw blood.

"geez" i said.

"we should get you checked out by a doctor" nate said.

"okay but i think you need to carry me" i said.

"i'll always carry a princess" he joked and picked me up carefully.

i wrapped my arm around his neck, securely afraid of falling.

he helped me into his car.

the manager from the restaurant had saw what happened so he brought out some ice and napkins.

nate thanked the guy and handled them to me to help the bleeding stop.

i put the napkins on the blood first and then the ice on top.

nate pulled out the parking lot and drove us to the emergency room.

which was exactly where my father worked, i really was hoping he wasn't on shift right now because he'd go nuts over this, i knew.

when we got there, nate helped me out the car again and got me inside.

"oh my, what happened?" miss sarah came from behind the desk.

i was very familiar with her since she was who my father had decided to marry after my mother.

"um long story" i tried.

she gave me a stern look and glanced at nate.

"you won't lie to me"

"some girl accused her-"

"nate" i exclaimed giving him a look.

"emma, you're hurt" he argued.

so i stayed quiet while he told her the story.

"alright, come on kids" she led me and nate to an empty bed and we waited for someone to come check me out.

i sat on the bed still holding the ice to the back of my head while nate stood next to me and held onto my hand.

"what a great reunion, we had" nate said.

"i know. it sucked" i sighed.

"alright, so i hear there's some blee- emmalyn?" i looked up not suprised but also not very happy to see my father standing in front of me.

he's a doctor.

"hi, dad." i smiled. "how is your day going?"

i walked inside the house.

but instantly regretted that decision, i turned to walk out again when someone stepped in front of me.

robert beer. madison's dad.

so here's the thing, about two years ago madison and her dad moved here.

he wanted me and madison to have an arranged marriage when we graduated high school but well i never agreed to do it.

so then he made a deal with my parents, offered them 10,00 in cash for me to date madison.

i wasn't about to do it but then i met her and i started to really like her.

and that's why i started going out with her, not for the money.

so for as long as i'm with her, he is paying my parents which i find disgusting still.

i was trapped now.

"why did my daughter just call me crying?" he asked me.

"probably because i dumped her ass" i said, not even caring about how i sounded.

"jack gilinsky, do not use that kind of language!" my mom said.

"mr. beer with all due respect, she's a hoe and i'm done with her crap so i'm out" i said and pushed him out the way.

"you can't be out, jack. it's a done deal. you will marry this girl!" my dad said.

"no, i won't. i will marry someone i love. i will marry someone i choose to marry and i don't choose to marry madison. she's all over every guy in our school. pick someone else" i said.

i walked out the room ignoring them as the spoke among themselves to figure out the situation.

i went to my room and closed the door behind me.
