Poem: Letters To The Unknown ; An Unspoken Word

You act as if you don't want my name to escape your lips when I make love to you.

Like my name is the word nobody ever wants to say.

But before I left ,

You called out and said my name with "I love you" following it .

Those three little words could either bring me two things .

A great deal of happiness , or a world full of hate.

You see hatred would have been easier.

With hatred, I would have known what to do.

Hatred is clear, metallic, one-handed, unwavering; unlike love.

But that four letter word called "love" made my knees quiver by just the thought or the possibility of you ever loving me .

Loving you taught me

There's a heaven inside me

To which you opened the doors

Speaking of heaven ,

Making love to you was like hearing the angels sing.

And each time I wanted you to scream so loud the heavens could hear you.

When it came to you I didn't look for perfection

Because you were perfectly flawed in my eyes.

And even if my name was the one word nobody ever wanted to say. You only saying my name once would've given me a lifetime of happiness .

So everyday I want you to scream my name not out of anger

But because you loved how good it felt rolling off the tip of your tongue.
