Fei ran. She ran as fast as she could until she became a pink blur in a sea of brown and green. She didn't slow down until her lungs were being filled with fresh air from the school gardens. Her whole body shook as she ran blindly, tears streaming down her face, tripping over several unidentifiable vegetables until she ran into a mane of bushy black hair. Unable to stop herself, the two of them crashed straight into the slick mud.
"Hey! Watch yourself!" The person grumbled under Fei.
"Naneun sagwa.." She mumbled as she disentangled herself from the other person.
"Gwaenchanh-a. Sago yeoss-eo." The stranger replied as they wiped mud off of their dark jeans.
"Neo hangug-eo hal jul al-a?" Fei replied, stunned.
"Yes, I do." They shook their hair out before meeting Fei's dark almond eyes. "I'm Rana, by the way."
"Fei." She said as she took Rana's hand.
"Why were you running out here? It's out of bounds....."
Rana trailed off as she noticed the tear tracks on Fei's face.
"Is everything alright?" Rana asked, concerned.
Fei blinked back tears. "I'm fine."
"Are you sur-"
"I'm fine." She repeated automatically.
Rana cast a wary look at Fei before she turned her gaze to the muddy ground. She knelt on the squishy mud, swiping her finger over it.
"It wasn't this wet before," she mumbled to herself, rolling her fingers together. "What on earth?"
Fei approached her slowly from behind.
"Is everything good?"
"Yeah," Rana replied absentmindedly. "Just, a little weird."
"Oh, ok."
Fei shuffled awkwardly from one foot to another as Rana stood up, her face thoughtful. Suddenly, she turned to Fei with a smile.
"Do you want to sit with me at lunch?"
Fei considered it. But the thought of all the faces, the people, the voices.....
"No, gomabseubnida."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes"
She turned and walked away from Rana. Slowly at first but as she walked further and further, she picked up speed until she was lost in a blur once again.
Running became her world until a loud explosion knocked her off her feet. Fei flicked her head up and her eyes widened in horror as she took in the black wave that was approaching the school. As she got up to run away, her thoughts drifted to Rana, most likely still in the school garden. All of her instincts told her to run and hide, just like always. But a much smaller, much quieter voice was asking about Rana, if she was ok.
Before she knew it, her feet were taking her back to the garden. Back to Rana.

Woooooo! New chapter! I'm actually quite proud of myself considering its me.
Also, thoughts on Rana? On Fei? On what the heck I'm planning? Who knows? (Well, me, obviously. Kinda. Not really.)
