The Elementals

Chapter 1

At Pine Hills High School, there was a pecking order and everyone knew it. So when the most popular girl in school is walking down a hallway, you part like the Red Sea. Even if said corridor is packed with people.

Everyone parted for the resident "miss popular", Amber, and her pose as they strutted down the corridor, a cup of coffee in all their hands. As a girl with pastel pink hair tried to go around them, a random hand flung out and pushed her right into one of Amber's friends.

"Ew! Don't touch me!" She shrieked before pushing her again, this time straight into Amber. Their hands barely brushed each other's before a loud BANG went off and sent all the students around them flying into the walls while knocking the two girls on their behinds, books and makeup scattering everywhere. As the students regained their footing, the pink haired girl scrambled to pick up all her books. Before she picked up the last one, a perfectly pedicured foot in an expensive heel stomped down on it, which punctured a hole through the front cover.

"What the hell was that?" Amber snarled at the now trembling girl.

"N-nado molla!" She stuttered.

"What was that? Speak English!"

"I- I do not k-know!" She stuttered out with a heavy accent.

Amber leaned down and pressed her face to the trembling girls.

"Well you better find out, and if you don't-"

"What?" A new voice asked. "What will you do Chatham?"

A stocky girl made her way through the crowd, towering over everyone. She had short, choppy brown hair, deep brown eyes and a splash of freckles across her face. She was wearing a large olive coloured sweater and jeans, her well defined muscles could be seen by everyone through the material. Amber took her heel off the book and backed up.

"That's what I thought." She said as she leaned down and helped the pink haired girl.

"Are you ok?" She whispered. The pink haired girl nodded mutely as she accepted the book from the strangers hand.

"Go before she snaps out of it. And I'm Iris."

"Fei." The pink haired girl whispered before bolting out of the corridor, pushing past the people blocking the exit.

Iris straightened up and surveyed the gawking students.

"Well?" Her voice boomed. "Don't you all have class?"

The previously silent hallway slipped back into it's normal volume and everyone walked around the group in the middle. Amber raised her head defiantly as Iris closed in on her.

"Touch her again and I'll personally see to it that you're expelled." Iris snarled at Amber, who stood there looking unimpressed.

"I think you forget who my parents are." She replied smugly.

"I think you forget who my parents are," Iris said as she took a step forward. Amber took a matching step back.

"And who I am. So I wouldn't get smart, you wouldn't want to hurt that pretty little head of yours."

Amber flushed red.

"You dare-"

"Oh I dare. Do you?"

With a huff of annoyance, Amber turned on her heels and stalked away, her "friends" scrambling after her. As Amber turned the corner, a flash of grey overtook Iris's mahogany eyes and Amber tripped over her own feet. Iris shook her head and headed in the other direction.

From the shadows, a tall figure stepped out, their chocolate brown eyes followed Iris as she rounded the corner. They had seen everything.

Those three couldn't possibly be the ones, They thought to themselves. If they are, Teiath help us

They took a step back and once again melted into the shadows.

Ahhhh, the beginning of a new story.

Yeah, honestly, I'm so bad with keeping up with my writing. So I'm making this announcement now.

The updates for this book with be very erratic. I have absolutely no set schedule and I only write at my own pace.

Also, the chapters will probably be short as well. Oops 😬
