Ana's POV
I went through the day feeling a bit panicky about lunch. I knew jules invited me to sit with him and his friends but i don't know them. What if they don't like me? a bunch of these questions were swirling through my brain, distracting me from my work. Miss Bell even noticed. "Ana are you okay?" she asked me as I packed my stuff, ready to leave.
"Yeah I'm fine."
"You don't seem fine" this is why Miss Bell is my favorite teacher. She doesn't treat you like a student she treats you more like a friend. She smooths out her dress as she gets up and walks to me. "What's bothering you Ana?"
"I would love to tell you but, I'm gonna be late"
"I'll write you a pass" there's no getting out of this now. I sat back down in my chair and sighed, stalling until Miss Bell gave me that look that basically says "tell me now"
"I'm just scared about my social life, I know its stupid but, I have like no friends in this school and now I'm sitting with someone I don't know and I'm afraid they're gonna judge me or something" she sighs.
"It's okay Ana, this issue is very common among your age. You should just be yourself and if that person doesn't like that then, you don't need them. You don't need that negativity in your life" I smiled and she put a calming hand on my back, "are you okay now?" I took a deep breath and nodded, she's right. I should just be myself and hope for the best, I'm still a little nervous though. Miss Bell writes me the pass and I leave to my next class.
*lunch*
I was a little late to lunch and I got scared, I was hoping to find jules soon so they don't think I ditched them or something. Luckily, I saw Jules and he motioned for me to come over. "Ana, this is niko, Barry-"
"OH MY GOSH" I didn't pay attention to the guys, I was looking at the girls. Jules quickly turned to me, startled a bit, he seemed very worried "oh sorry it's just, I know them" they started freaking out too. I guess they remember me.
"OH YEAH YOURE THE GIRL THAT WE MET IN THE BATHROOM" one of them said, she was the one that I talked to the whole time.
"YEAHHH" they all smiled at me and cheered a bit.
"IM SO HAPPY YOURE SITTING WITH US" I guess I did take up their offer. I couldn't wipe the smile off my face, but I motioned for jules to continue. The others looked at us weirdly, obviously they didn't know what happened but, we didn't care to explain.
"Um well, i don't know what just happened" there was a small chorus of laughs "but I'm gonna start again. That's niko, Sam, Erin, trace and Christina, then jill" they all wave to me "then that's Barry"
Jules sat down next to trace and I took the seat right next to him. We settled in and we started greeting each other. I turned to Barry and said hi.
"hi" barry bobbed his head down a bit and briefly waved. He was a bit shy when he said that. Aw that's so cute.
