Chapter 2: We have to leave

(Hiccup Pov)

The next morning Hiccup woke to the feeling of his two children jumping on him and Astrid. He chuckled before giving them a hug each. He then told them both to get ready for the day. When both of the kids left the room ( and Hiccup made sure to check if Nuffink was sneakily listening in on his conversation, not unlike how his mother did the same to Hiccup when he was keeping toothless a secret) hiccup talked to Astrid.

"Astrid, I've been thinking about this for some time and well I know I'm chief of Berk now and I can't leave and we have kids now and -" he began to ramble on,

"You want to go see Toothless in the Hidden World don't you," Astrid finished for him.

Hiccup smiled and kissed her before he continued,

"Yes. I can't stop feeling that maybe we are supposed to go back. I mean how can we raise our children if they can't see the creatures that we tell them for their bedtime stories. It would be a great experience. I mean I know you miss Stormfly, you look at that one spike almost every day."

Astrid argues back,
"Hiccup, we can't just leave Berk. We have responsibilities now, not just to our family but to the village. As Chief, you need to lead them,"

Hiccup countered, "well what if I passed the title of Chief to Snotlout. He always wanted to be Chief and now he has the chance to."

Astrid opened her mouth before closing it. Hiccups logic was sound and she learned long ago never to doubt him when it came to his gut.

"What about Nuffink and Zephyr?"

"Oh, they can come with us. I mean I know for a fact that they prefer each other's company over anyone else's. They would love the hidden world."

"Alright, but how are we going to get there? The Hidden world is about a 3 day travel and we don't have any dragons anymore."

"I've been experimenting with a new sail that will allow a ship to go twice as fast as they do now. We can pack all our belongings and everything we need."

"Alright."

1 day later...

Hiccup, Astrid, Nuffink, and Zephyr were all on the boat heading to the hidden world. the children have never seen their father this happy before. He smiled more and he played with his kids more than he ever had. since the duties of Chief were gone from his shoulders. He was able to spend more time with his family.

He noticed a dense fog coming towards them. He steered the boat into the fog. Knowing where he was going generally. Then, in the distance he made our two shapes in the fog followed by 3 little ones.

As Hiccup and his family got closer he could make out the shapes. He gasped as he looked at the scene before him. Toothless with his mate Luna and what looked like 3 night fury-light fury hybrids. Toothless head perked up as he saw the human boat.

Toothless was very wary. The only ones who usually ride in boats were dragon hunters. He flew towards the boat and spotted 4 humans. A man with auburn brown hair and a beard with familiar pine green eyes, A woman with blond hair and striking blue eyes, and two children, a boy with blond hair and blue eyes and a girl with brown auburn hair and green eyes.

Toothless landed on the boat growling, he stared at the humans with distrust in his eyes. He went up to the man his eyes turned to slits as growled. The man reached his hand out to him toothless growled... until the man turned his back to toothless his arm outstretched.

Toothless stopped and smelled the mans scent. The gesture, the scent, the appearance of the man.

It was Hiccup.

Toothless rumbled and drenched his best friend in dragon saliva hearing the mans protests and sputters. He smiled his toothless smile at his friend and pranced around the boat in happiness.

"Hey bud!" Hiccup said, "how's the tail, I bet it could use a bit of oil right."

Astrid laughed before stating to their children,

"He's not going to eat your father, look their friends!"

Zephyr and Nuffink both stood there, wary of the dragon until hiccup gestured to them to come closer. He put both his kids hands on Toothless snout while Toothless purred in contentment.

Zephyr and Nuffink both dropped their jaws in amazement. Hiccup smiled before speaking to Toothless,

"Hey bud, so I kind of gave up chieftainship and left new Berk to do this, my question is that would you allow us to live with you in the hidden world?"

Toothless' eyes widened in happiness before he looked over at Lina. She nodded, and toothless nuzzled her before nodding to Hiccup.

Hiccup laughed in joy and threw his arms around the night fury's neck while toothless purred in contentment while returning the hug.

There we go. I will focus on Astrid and Stormfly reuniting and the flight at the end of httyd 3 next chapters. I hope you all enjoy this chapter!
