Chapter 11. A walk to....temper?
I know it's been a while but don't shot me writer's block is not a physical thing you can pick up and move out of the way instead you have to have a mental battle with and yes for weeks I was losing but nevertheless here is chapter eleven I true hope you enjoy....
*******************************************************************
The next day the doctor told me I was to be discharged, within the week, she said. Mr. Bolton came by that day too. He walked into my room like he knew everything.
"Well if you are to be discharged we need to know if you can walk what do you say" It's not like he could have asked me how I was doing no he had to ask my doctor for the full report.
"I'm not going anywhere with you."
"Oh come on now, none of that." He said as he held out his hand.
Okay he does have a point whether I want to admit it or not, we need to know if I can stand. I haven't walked yet. I swing my legs over the side of the bed, all too aware that all I have on is a gown and underwear. I put my feet on the cool tiles. I use my hands to push myself to a standing position. I moved way too fast, for I feel light headed. I wobbled a little but before I completely lose my balance and fall, Mr. Bolton has me in his arms, cradling me like a child.
"Sat up a little fast there, little Leo."
It feels nice to be in his arms and my name just flows in his voice. Wait what am I saying? He is jerk I don't want this. I pause for a moment despite my earlier though and just enjoy being in his strong arms. I close my eyes and cover them with my hand. Mr. Bolton sets me down softly on the bed.
"Hold on, I have a better idea."
As he leaves the room I quickly cover myself with a sheet. It may sound silly but I feel completely exposed without my clothes on. Surprisingly my doctor comes in the room and hands me some scrubs.
"These maybe a little big, you've lost a lot of weight trying to heal you're just a skinny thing now."
I hadn't even noticed.
"Now will you be needing any help getting into these?"
"No well yeah probably."
With her help and a lot of pain I am finally in my scrubs. I collapse on the bed.
"I don't think I'm going to be able to walk. Just getting in these clothes has drained me." I tell Mr. Bolton when he walks back in.
"That's fine, I will be right back." He says.
While I sit on my bed waiting for him to come back I think about how weird it is calling him Mr. Bolton. I haven't actually said it out loud yet but nevertheless it's still weird he can't he that much older than me. He looked what in his late twenties early thirties. I may only be eighteen but still. When Mr. Bolton comes back in the room, I see that he has a wheelchair in tow.
"Oh no, I am not going around in that thing."
He stops and frowns. "Well it's either this or my arms. You pick." He teases with a smile. I just glare at him. Seeing that I'm not amused he almost begs,
"Come on, just a little fresh air."
I sigh.
"It can't hurt." He tried.
"No, Mr. Bolton, I'm not going anywhere with you." He threw back his head and roared with laughter.
"Just what is so funny here?"
