I awoke to the sound of my phone vibrating nonstop. I groaned and looked at it. I rolled my eyes, seeing that it was Chad.

"Hello" I answered quietly

"Where the fuck you at" he asked calmly

"I'm with a friend"

He chuckled and was quiet for a few seconds.

"You with that nigga ain't you" he questioned

"Chad, its five in the morning. I'll call you when I wake back up" I said before hanging up on him and putting his number on block

He had cause enough pain to me for the night and I wasn't in the mood to deal with his shenanigans at this moment.

I tried laying there but I was awake and my throat was extremely dry. I slowly climbed out of bed and walked into the kitchen to grab a bottled water from the fridge. I noticed Will laying on the couch. I walked over to him and tapped him on his shoulder.

"Yeah" he asked, opening his eyes

"I can't sleep" I told him

He slowly sat up and looked up at me

"Yeah, me neither. I just been laying here"

He patted next to him signaling me to sit down which I did.

"Thank you for helping me" I whispered.

"I told you I got you Marlei. But you gotta let me help" he said, looking at me

I bit down on my bottom lip and nodded my head in agreement.

"Try to get some rest. You been through a lot"

"I don't wanna sleep alone" I told him truthfully

"You can have my bed. I'll make a pallet on the floor" he replied causing me to quickly shake my head in disagreement.

"I'm not putting you on the floor. Just give me a separate cover"

He nodded his head and stood, stretching his arms out before walking into his room with me following behind him.
He went into the closet as I sat at the edge of his bed.

"I'm bout to shower real quick. Get comfortable" he tossed me a thick blanket before heading into his bathroom.

I layed back and pulled the covers over myself as I waited for him to finish his shower. Once he came out dressed he laid next to me on his back.

"You good" he asked, turning his head to face me

"Mhmm" I replied

He gently tugged on my arm, pulling me on his chest. I tensed up a bit until I began to listen to the rhythm of his heartbeat which soothed me.

"I got you Marlei" he whispered as he kissed my forehead a few times.

I leaned up and kissed his cheek in response before snuggling into him and closing my eyes. I felt secure with him and that's all that mattered at this moment. I felt safe. I listened to the beat of his heart until I eventually fell asleep.
