Amelia's pov

The first thing I usually do in the morning the moment I wake up is to check my phone to see if I've got any messages from my friends. Then, as usual, I hear my mom shouting my name saying that I'll be late to university and I should hurry up.

I can't believe I finished seven years of college. Those were the most memorable time of my life, especially the bonding I made with my friends and teachers. Time flew really fast.

So, I took a quick shower, wore my light grey sweatshirt with my black bomber jacket, combed my hair into a half up ponytail, applied my eyeliner and finally, put on my white sneakers. Before leaving my room, I packed my bag and went downstairs where I saw my older brother, Sebastian, devouring my yummy pancakes which my mother just prepared.

"Good morning mom and dad." I said to my parents before giving each of them a kiss on their cheek.

"Good Morning sweety." They replied in unison and my mom placed a bowl of cereal infront of me as if she has already figured out what I was about to say.

"Oh and Sebby, today you can have all of my delicious breakfast since I'm not in the mood to eat them." I said to my brother who is now taking smaller bites, chewing more slowly before swallowing the food satisfactorily.

"Of course dearest sister! Besides, you know that I would never take anything you like away from you. Except if you allow me, just like these pancakes." Sebby said, taking a mouthful bite.

I shook my head and smiled at him realising how lucky I am to have such a caring and teasing older brother like him. I ate my cereal but I did not have that much appetite as I was worried thinking how my first day would be at the university and the fact I knew no one there didn't make it any better.

"Don't stress yourself too much sweety. Everything will be fine. You're definitely not gonna be the only junior who will be joining today. There will be others too. Even seniors have gone through this phase. It'll be just like you had joined your first day at college. Just be a good girl and be friends with nice people." My mom said and hugged me.

"Yeah thanks mom. Don't worry, I'll take care of myself. I think I'm ready to go now. In case I've got any free session, I'll call you. Love you." I sighed and hugged her back.

"I love you too sweety."

"That's my strong girl! For now, take a deep breath and exhale. You'll feel better." My dad spoke.

I did exactly like my father told me to do and I was feeling more confident. Well, by now you have already guessed that I have a shy and timid personality. It's just that once you get to know me, I can be an outgoing person.

"Thank you dad. You always have those small tricks which seems to work effectively." Who would have known that sometimes small encouragement like this can hold a lot of power and eventually helps you to overcome things in life.

"Well, we should probably leave now since I don't want to be late."

"Somebody seems to be very eager." Sebby teased me.

"Thanks for your vote of confidence too, Mr Sebastian Collins." I chuckled at my brother and placed my lunch in my bag.

At 08.30, we left in my dad's car since that of my brother was out for the maintenance check, therefore on their way to work, they dropped me off at the main gate.

I was there sharp nine o'clock and I was now standing in front of the huge establishment who had the title McGill University written in bold letters. My heart started pounding as I entered the campus. It was indeed huge and I can say like in every other universities, this one also had its social categories: the nerds, the weirdos, the punks, the popular kids, the jocks, the skaters and everyone seemed to be pretty engaged in their own conversations.
