Chapter 6: "Crossing the border"

Alison's POV

I wake up to the sound of my front door slamming shut and instantly know my mom has left. It has been two days since the concert and I have plans to have lunch with Luke, Calum, Michael, Ashton, Alex, Michaels girlfriend, and Ashton's little sister.

I look at my alarm clock and read, "10:53". I instantly jump out of my bed and grab a pair of leggings, my white cardigan and my black tank top. I straighten my hair and run down the stairs.

I see my dad sitting at the kitchen table and I kiss his forehead mumbling a good morning and grab a banana.

"Hey, dad?" I say as I start to peel my quick breakfast.

"Hey is for horses, Marie." My dad sighs without looking up from his newspaper.

I flinch as he calls me by my middle name and nod my head.

"I'm sorry, but, dad I'm going to hang out with some friends and I was wondering if I can come home by 10. Is that fine?" I ask.

My dad sets down his paper and glances at me as he sips his coffee.

"Alison, what do you want to be when you grow up?" My dad questions.

"A lawyer." A singer.

"And...do you think you can become that if your out with your friends all the time?" He interrogates.

I sigh. "Dad, it only one day. Please? I promise. I mean, it's not like I'm crossing the border illegally daddy..." I say. As I look at my sock less feet. Darn it. I forgot socks.

"I know but soon, one day will turn into 2 days then 3 then...." He goes on and on but I some out and mentally pick out my shoes.

I look at the clock on the stove and see it's already 11 and I have to meet them at noodles and company at 11:20.

"Dad, I'm sorry but I got to go." I say quickly and run towards the door and grab my toms. I run out the house and get in my car. I put my shoes on and pull out the driveway.

I walk into the small restaurant and see Alex sitting in the middle of Calum and Ashton. I walkover and see a pretty girl leaning into Michael.

She had lilac colored hair and white tips. Her eyes were light blue. I think that's michaels girlfriend. I sit in the empty seat next to Ashton's sister and say hello to everyone.

Before I can ask where's Luke, someone covers my eyes and I sigh impatiently. Obviously it's Luke if he's the only one missing. I pry his hands off my eyes and look up at him smiling like a goof ball.

"I missed ya Ali." He said and kisses my cheek. He takes a seat on my left and that means I'm between him and Ashton's sister, Lauren.

I feel my face heat up as Michaels girlfriend Violet, says, "Oh my god. I already ship them. It's done. No need to observe. I ship. That's it." She says and I hear a chorus of "sames" from everyone else as I cover my face and practically dying of embarrassment.
