The Wrong Choice

Chapter 5

I turned over trying to sleep but I just couldn't, all I could think of was yesterday and the words that came out of Jake's mouth. I can't believe we are over, I just can't. I went downstairs, opened the freezer, grabbed a half-empty tub of Ben and Jerrys caramel chew chew ice cream and walked over to the island and put it down with a thud. I then walked over to the cutlery drawer and all of a sudden the drawer came out and a bunch of spoons and forks fell out "oh you actually have to be kidding me" I thought to myself. I put down the drawer on the island and picked up the cutlery that escaped and put them into the sink. I got a spoon and made my way back upstairs. I got back to my room and grabbed the remote control from the shelf and took it to the bed with me. I finally got comfy and put on Netflix and started to watch To All The Boys I've Loved Before when I find myself making plans to meet Kai in the park. "I guess I have to take you back downstairs" I muttered to my ice cream.

I made my way downstairs and over to the freezer, I put my ice cream back and made my way towards the door. I put on my small white coat and my black boots and sneaked out of my house. As I walked I could feel the cold air hitting my face and my legs "I knew I should've put on some pajama bottoms instead" I thought to myself as my legs were getting colder by the second. I kept on walking and before I knew it I could see a shadowy figure sitting on the swings. "Hey," I said as I walked over to him, "Hey," he said as he turned around to greet me. We walked over to the swings and sat down. There was a long silence before I started speaking. "so uh how are you?" I said softly "cold," Kai said "yeah me too" I let out a small chuckle as my legs shivered. "So Kai, I have kind of been thinking and I don't want us to talk for a while because I feel things are moving too quickly between us I'm sorry," I said looking at my pale while legs shaking from the cold air. "oh... okay Alisha," he said quietly. "I should be getting home now as I am freezing," I said as I got up off the swing.

I got home took off my coat and my boots and made my way upstairs, I opened my door and walked straight to my bed. I was starting to fall asleep when I heard a ping on my phone and it was from Kai

Hey, shall I delete your number considering you want us to stop talking? - Kai

Hey, no I would actually prefer it if you kept my number please - Alisha

Okay no worries - Kai

I replied to Kai and fell asleep later that night.

*DING! DING! DING!* I woke up to the sound of my alarm. I looked down at my hand and there lay my phone right on mine and Kai's messages, all of a sudden a notification popped up on my screen telling me about my low battery, I leaned over my bed, picked up my charger and put my phone on charge. All of a sudden my door swang open and in waltzed my mother singing Good morning! Good morning! Good morning to youuuu to me with a mug of tea in her hand "thanks for the song mum" I laughed "yeah I read it up on Facebook that it makes your child's day better" she said as she handed me my tea "that's very interesting mum but I have to get ready for school" I said while handing her back the mug and getting up from my bed.

I walked into my ensuite and turned on my shower letting it warm up. I removed my clothes and stepped into the shower letting the water soak my hair and trickle down my body, I turned around and grabbed my shampoo and squirted a blob onto my hand before soaking my hair with it. I turned around letting the water wash out the shampoo, I picked up my conditioner and once again squirted a blob of it onto my hand but this time I only put it on the ends of my hair and I once again turned around letting the water wash it out, I washed my body and got out of the shower. I grabbed a towel from the cupboard and put it around myself.

I walked out of my ensuite and over to my wardrobe. I skimmed through my wardrobe trying to find an outfit when I saw something I liked, I dropped my towel and quickly changed into a pair of high waisted black leggings and a grey oversized crop top that ended just above my stomach. I picked up my wet towel and put it in the clothes basket before walking over to my mirror and turning to the side as I saw the two white stripes leading down the side of my leggings. "yep good enough" I thought to myself.

I walked over to my dresser before sitting down and getting out my curling iron, I turned it on and stood up flipping my head over to put my hair up in a high ponytail. I sat back down and just in time as my curling iron turned green allowing me to use it, I curled the end of my hair slightly and took out my ponytail. I turned off the curling iron allowing it to cool down and in that time I managed to put half of my hair up into a bun. "wow first try" I thought to myself

I checked the time on my phone, it read 7:45 am "oh shoot, I better be heading to school very soon as it takes me about 40 minutes to walk there. I grabbed my white bag from the door as I admired the rose that I never realized was embroidered onto it. I quickly put my phone into the small compartment and my books into the larger compartment along with my pencil case and my drink, I put my bag on my back, turned my light off and went downstairs.

"Morning mum," I said with a smile on my face "morning sweetie" she smiled. I put my bag down on the island as I made my way over to the shoe rack next to the door. I grabbed a pair of black and white converse high tops and put them on before tying the laces. I got up and went over to my bag where my mother was putting my lunch in. "Thanks mum" I said with a smile "it's okay sweetie now hurry off to school before your late" she said while hurrying me out the door "okay mum" I said while taking my bag off her before putting it on my back "goodbye mum" I said as I waved goodbye " goodbye sweetie" she yelled to me.
