As the days passed I avoided Alex as I avoided my reflection in the mirror. He and the guys came almost every day to practice, a thing that made me stay inside my room all day. My mum was working always late and more than often she left town. I tried to talk to the others and managed it sometimes when he didn't come. I think he couldn't manage to see me again. But when he did our interactions were short and simple. I couldn't look at him because when I did I just wanted to kiss him. Another thought that played on repeat in my mind all this time was dying my hair. It just couldn't leave my mind. I had already bought the hair paint. But I was really scared about everyone's reactions so I just stared at it not knowing what to do. Screw it! I grabbed the paint from my desk and closed the bathroom door.
When I was over I looked myself in the mirror. It was time to remove the paint from my hair for the final results. I hopped into the shower and removed the unwanted paint. My mum was out of town, like always, and Matt just shouted that he went to the supermarket to buy some things.
I wrapped myself in a tiny white towel and went back inside my room. My blue hair was still wet. I liked them. A lot. I placed a vinyl on the record player and turned the volume as up as it went and started dancing away. A habit that I loved when I was home alone. I started feeling happy again after a long time. I had my eyes closed jumping around and rocking out to Barely Legal by The Strokes when I opened my eyes to see a face that I hadn't seen in weeks and I realized how much I missed it. I turned the record player off embarrassed. I felt my cheeks going red.
"Great music taste" Alex chuckled and looked at me from top to bottom before he focused on my eyes again. And then by his intense glare, I realized I was still wrapped in my tiny towel that didn't cover even the half of my thighs. My cheeks were burning me.
"How did you get in?" I asked puzzled not looking at him.
"Your door was open. I was gonna meet up with Matt but I couldn't find him"
"He went to pick up some things from the supermarket"
"So your hair is different..." he noticed as I walked over to my wardrobe to take an oversized hoodie and a pair of shorts, I put them on carefully.
"You know you can stop staring" my cheeky comment made him laugh. He wasn't the only one that could play that game. He licked his lips and stared at mine. I blushed like crazy and walked past him touching his shoulder with mine, well not exactly his shoulder since he was taller.
"So what are you looking Matt for?"
"We need to do some changes in one of our songs"
"Can you play me something?" I questioned him with curiosity and felt like a little child asking for ice-cream.
"Maybe" a crooked grin formed on his face.
"Oh come on"
"Ah, okay. Come back here" he pointed at my bedroom's door.
I went inside and handed him my guitar.
"I want you to know that this is not ready yet. It is called Suck it and see. It is probably not going to be good" he sat at the end of my bed and placed my guitar on his legs. He seemed kind of nervous showing me this. I sat beside him and he started playing.

Be cruel to me 'cause I am a fool for youHis words rolled out of his mouth like water. His deep seductive voice sounded like angels singing and I was lost looking at him. I felt like I was lying carelessly on the clouds and had that warm feeling in my heart. When he sang he seemed to be lost in his own world and now that song ended he landed on earth softly. I was so surprised by his voice. It was the first time I heard it and it felt like the universe had blessed me with eternal happiness and peace. I stared at him amused.
"What?" he laughed nervously looking shy all of a sudden.
"Er... no-nothing. It was just... er... beautiful" I stuttered finally and smiled.
"The chords are very easy, really. You can learn to play it quickly. It is nothing really. It is not even finished yet. It is very simple" he said shyly once again.
"I would love to learn it" I smiled.
"Oh, nice. Okay, so you start with..." he started explaining to me how to play it. I wasn't that simple. He had his hands around me trying to teach me the song like I didn't know how to play guitar. But I didn't say anything. We were centimeters apart and I could feel his breath on my cheek. After he showed me the chords, a lesson that I really enjoyed, I played a part of the song.
"You learn quickly" he commented back to his confident self while we were still pretty close.
"I have a great teacher" I said in almost a whisper. His glance moved from my eyes to my lips. How many times will this be repeated? Couldn't he just kiss me? Of course, he couldn't.
"Rachel? Alex?" the reason why he couldn't yelled our names from downstairs.
"We are here" I answered and he entered the room. Alex was still sitting on my bed but I was now standing beside the door.
"Al, I saw your motorbike outside. Sorry about that. At least Rachel was here" he apologized.
"Alex showed me one of your songs"
"Oh great did you like it?"
"Yeah a lot"
"Which one?"
"Suck it and see"
"Never heard of it" Matt said confused and we looked over at Alex that was playing some random chords on my guitar not giving us any attention.
"Mate, let's go" he said and suddenly got up "We gotta change the thing that we talked about in "The View From The Afternoon""
"Sure, mate. Come on" Matt got out of the room. Before Alex closed the wooden door behind him he winked and smiled at me. I melted and fell on my bed. Why didn't he show them this song? Did he write it for me? Nah... Well...
