Mikey's Side (A/N for those who know my writing. It's not POV because I don't like writing in first person)

Brooklyn and Mikey made it to McDonalds, ordered their food and got it before Brooklyn thought it was time to explain what just happened.

"So, Mikey," Brooklyn began as he took a bit of his sandwich, "want to explain what just happened?"

Mikey bit into his sandwich and said nothing. He was stalling, he really didn't know how to begin talking about what was racing through his mind.

"Mike," Brook set his sandwich down, "Is everything alright?" Brooklyn was seeing a load of emotions crossing over Mikey's face and it was the first time he's seen it happen. Whatever happened has Mikey on edge.

"Nothing's bad has happened," Mikey began as he started tapping his leg.

"But something's happened," Brooklyn finished for him. "What was it?"

"Um, well," Mikey looks side to side to make sure it was actually just them. It was. Then he blurted out, "Max hinted at the idea that Rye may like me more than a friend."

Brooklyn picked up his sandwich again and took a bite, "Well, we all knew that."

"What?" Mikey's eyes widened, "Everyone knew?"

"Yeah..." Brooklyn looked up from his sandwich and it was his turn to widen his eyes, "You didn't know?"

"No!" Mikey whisper shouted. "I thought he was just a flirty person!"

"He is!" Brooklyn didn't know whether to backtrack and tell Mikey he was joking or go forward and say of course Rye likes you. From the panicked look on Mikey's face he thought it would be best to backtrack, "He's just a little extra flirty with you."

Mikey put his head in his hands, "And what does that mean?" He lifted his head up to look at Brook.

Brooklyn shrugged, he knew exactly what it meant, but it was not up to him to tell him. "It means he has a man crush on you. I mean look at you," he gestured at him and smirked while checking him out, "Who wouldn't?"

"Stop that," Mikey smiled and ran a hand through his hair, "You think that's it?" He didn't know if he should feel relieved or disappointed.

He shrugged again, "Rye doesn't seem like the person who would hide his interest in someone," he said. Unless, he was scared to lose someone as important to him as you, he thought.

Mikey began to calm down a little, "You're right," he said for both Brooklyn and him, "He has never shied away from his feelings before. Why would he start now." He nodded trying to convince himself. He took a sip of his drink with a thoughtful look on his face. "But, Max mentioned something about him looking at me longingly..." he trailed off.

Everyday, all day, when you're not looking, he thought but actually said, "He likes your attention. When he doesn't have it, he gets all pouty or tries to do everything he can to get it. You know how jealous that boy is," his mouth twitched as he added, "He got annoyed with you when you called Andy your best friend, remember?"

Mikey laughed and with that all the nerves went away, "You're right."

"Course I am," he said, "You two have known each other for years! It makes sense that he has a man crush on you. You are a great person, one that Rye and all of us, wouldn't want to lose. That leads to his possessiveness." That and he really likes you, but you're not ready for that yet, he thought.

Mikey scratched the back of his head and laughed again, "That makes sense. I am a great person," he smirked and then he lost the smirk when he remembered what he did, "He's going to kill me."
