"Okay, Rye. What's wrong?" Jack sat up on his bed.Rye turned his back on them and started messing with the stuff in his back back. "Nothing's wrong," he played with his ear.
"You're lying, mate," Jack stated.
"Okay, so maybe I'm annoyed that Mikey isn't here by 10 like he was supposed to be," Rye blurted out. He wasn't lying, he was mad about the fact that Mikey went against his word. It was just a partial truth.
"And that's it?" Jack raised his eyebrow.
"Yes," Rye lied.
"That doesn't explain you staring at Mikey when Max offered to take him to where he wanted to go."
"I wasn't staring," he lied again. He dropped onto his bed face first.
"Three lies in a row?" Jack said shocked, "This must really bother you then. You never let it get this far."
"I'm fine," he winced. Four now. Okay maybe he wasn't actually fine.
"Ryan Beaumont If you don't tell me what's wrong this instant, I will call Mikey and tell him you're upset!" Jack said.
Rye mumbled, "He wouldn't answer because he's too busy being buddy buddy with Max."
"So that's what's wrong with you," Jack nodded.
He got up from his bed and went to sit near Rye on his bed. He began to rub Rye's back as he said, "You know he wouldn't do that to you."
Rye closed his eyes and sighed, "I know. It's Michael, he'll drop everything to make sure the people he cared about was alright." He tensed when he thought, what if Max becomes someone Mikey really cared about? Then what? He'll beat him in Mikey's priority list? His heart sank.
"What are you thinking? I can feel you tensing," Jack asked.
"Would he drop whatever he was doing with me, if Max needed him to?" Rye asked. His loyalty wouldn't switch that quick... would it? He asked himself.
"You doubt how long you and Mikey known each other," Jack answered, "The only thing that could take Mikey's attention away from you is family matters."
Rye hummed.
There was a knock at the door. Jack got up, "Who is it?" He shouts through the door.
"Me," They heard Mikey say.
Jack opened the door. "Hey, mate," he turned and walked back to where he was sitting next to Rye, who hadn't moved.
"Hey," Mikey replied with a smile. When he saw Rye laid on the bed, face down and not facing him, his smile dropped. "What happened?" He asked.
Jack looked between Mikey and Rye. When Rye didn't answer immediately, Jack said, "Well if you need me I'll be in the other room." He quickly exited the room.
"Ryan, what's wrong?" Mikey sits next to where Rye's chest is on the bed.
"You didn't come back before 10:00 pm," Rye stated.
"You're upset with me?" Mikey asked confused. "For that? I was back by 10:00. Max and I just made a small detour in front of the hotel because he wanted to check out our tour bus."
Since Rye was lying near the center of the bed, Mikey laid down on his side right next to him. He put his head on his hand and looked at Rye. "You're not seriously upset about that are you?"
Rye remained silent but he did turn to lie on his side so he was facing Mikey. At Rye's continued silence, Mikey scooted closer to Rye and put the arm he wasn't lying on, around him.
