Meeting Lilly

Misha's pov

I walked through the corridors of my new school, not wanting to be late on my first day. People would barge past me, talking loudly in small groups. I couldn't really hear what they were saying, but what I could hear was about someone called Lilly and sounded really cruel.

"...Thinks she's everything, doesn't she."

"Yeah. I mean, who like maths and reading?"

"She does, obviously."

"Such an idiot." There was laughter.

I couldn't believe what I was hearing. These girls were horrible! Not wanting to get caught up in this, I ran the rest of the way to class.

There was only one person there, a girl who had her head bent over a book, her long brown hair hiding her face. When I entered, she looked up and smiled at me. "Hi. I'm Lilly." Wait... this is Lilly!? I had no idea I would be teaching her, but... she's beautiful. Her blue eyes sparkled in the sunlight, and her hair flowed down her back with a fringe hanging over one eye.

"Hi... Um, I'm Mr Collins. I'll introduce myself properly when everyone else is here." I replied, grinning.

"Oh, okay. I haven't seen you before. Are you new?" Lilly asked.

"Yeah, I only started today."

She met my eyes and held her gaze for a while. "How are you liking it so far?"

"Well, it's really good." I said, just about honestly.

"Really? I would kill to get out of here." Lilly huffed. "Well, you wouldn't know what the people here are like. You are new, and a teacher." She turned away, and I felt hurt. I didn't get chance to reply, however, because the door opened and a large group of people flooded in. Great, this was going to be a long day, I thought as they all sat down...
