The low, raspy voice immediately silenced us. Only now did I notice the shadow beside me, and I rapidly turned around to look up.

"Guess we found your Billionaire Boy."
I whispered to Emily when I saw who interrupted us.

A man with dark brown hair and very particular facial hair looked down on me. For an incredibly rich man, he dressed poorly in a simple t-shirt and sweatpants. His eyes had dark circles underneath them, as if he had been up all night, and were criticising me. Tony Stark.

"Yeah, that's me. Now who are you?"
He asked, his arms crossed. He didn't seem to make a move to help either of us up, so we simply struggled until we were able to stand on our own.

"Eh... Hi! I'm Kristie. This is Mila."

I glanced at my friend, trying to keep the cringe from showing on my face. Kirstie and Mila... Was she serious?!

"So, ladies, mind sharing what your business is in my humble home during these late hours?"
He ignored the suspicious looks we gave each other and immediately got the point.

"Ah, well, you see..."
Emily started again, but before she could spit out another lie I joined in.

"We were not going to steal anything! We just wanted to watch you!"

A silence followed. Shit. That was creepy.

"That came out wrong. Eh. I meant, we wanted to meet you. In the middle of the night."
I wanted to slap myself.

Stark's eyes were now solely focused on me, unsure of what to do. I was pretty sure he'd never had two drunk girls break into his home before.

"Okay, dude, look. It's her birthday, we were bored, you guys are cool and when we got here we could easily unlock your door! So technically, it's your fault we're here."

Another silence. I then loudly slapped my hand to my forehead, letting out a groan. This was getting worse by the minute.

"Well... Since this is clearly my mistake then, I'll also fix it. Get out?"
Stark's voice was kind of intimidating, and I held up my hands to show him he didn't need to get angry at us. Which was kind of stupid, seeing we were the ones who broke into his house.

He pointed with his finger to the lift, like a father who had just sent his child to sleep without dinner. He cringed slightly when Emily stepped on a piece of the vase she had broken.
