Screams,
BANG,
Then silence.
That cycle repeated three times-
three too many times-
I could feel him coming.
I pressed a hand to the door,
and took a breath.
I pushed off from the door,
and turned around,
Leaving behind any chances of safety,
I walked out into the hall,
And stood in complete silence,
Listening to the pounding of my heart.
This was it.
I was about to let everything,
Everything that I had become,
Everything that I had built,
in this short life,
Go to waste.
But it was for a good cause,
I was sure of it.
It didn't phase me that I was walking,
a thin line between life and death,
But I was going to end this
once,
and for all.
