~FIVE~
"Where was she?" I heard Paul asking Brody once we showed back.
I was afraid of what Paul would say when he sees my drunken state. I'm pretty sure anyone with eyes could see how drunk I was. Maybe that's why I saw a wolf, because it wasn't really real! I just imagined it from how drunk I am. I feel a lot better now knowing that there isn't some demonic wolf out to get me.
"Play along." I heard Brody whisper before raising his voice to a normal tone. "She needed to pee so she walked into the woods and I followed her to make sure she's ok."
Paul seemed to buy this because he looked at me and I nodded in agreement with what Brody had said.
"Make sure you don't wander off alone again." Paul warned and I nodded my head. Deirdre and Cassandra were looking a little bit more sober now as they were just sitting quietly and looking at the fire.
"What time is it?" Logan asked, as he sat on one of the logs. I guess the race was over since all the boys are back.
"8:31pm." Jacob replied after glancing at his watch. "Guess we still got time to kill."
"No more alcohol." Paul instructed. "Especially not for Winnie."
How embarrassing, why was he treating me like a child. I wasn't planning on having anymore anyway so why did he have to make a big fuss about it in front of everyone.
"How about we tell some scary stories." Brody suggested, killing the silence that filled the air.
"Since when do you even talk?" Jacob scoffed, which made Brody glare at him.
"Shut it, before I feed you your own fucking dick, you dipshit!" Brody shot back and I gave Jacob a pointed look.
"I'd like to see you try." Jacob provoked him. I knew I had to say something or else things would've got out of hand.
"Stop it both of you."
"You shut the hell up." And that's how the old Brody came back. I was startled at how loud his level of voice was. I didn't expect this from him, not after how he's the one who's been trying to talk to me.
I felt so humiliated once again so I just turned around and sat on the log and took my phone out to avoid eye contact with anyone.
"Brody you don't have to be such an asshole to everyone." Cassandra yelled at her twin which made me feel upset since he didn't really start the whole argument. It was Jacob.
"Cass, it's my brothers fault."
"Wow." Jacob mutters. "I'm feeling the love sis."
"Everyone just shut up and let's continue our night of fun." Paul said to everyone. This night is turning out to be worse than I expected.
We all sat around the fire and just talked, laughed, told scary stories. The night slowly became more fun than when it had started.
Slowly I was starting to sober up and it felt good to be back to a fully aware state. As I was looking around at my friends, I saw Deirdre in Logan's lap exchanging saliva which I think is adorable because they both seem so into it. Then I looked over at Cass who was talking to Paul and they were both laughing. I looked over at Jacob who was on the phone to a girl I assume. Todd was also on his phone. Lastly I looked at Brody who was staring intently at me. I felt self conscious so I looked away slowly not wanting things to be awkward between us. That's the last thing I wanted to happen.
I locked at the time and saw it was 9:30pm already. "Guys we should head back to our cabins, it's getting late."
Everyone agreed and stood up ready to leave. Shortly afterwards we were back outside our cabin. The boys separated once we got back to the base of camp so now it's just us three.
