Lexie had worked on a variety of specialties throughout the past couple of weeks. She sparked an interest in pediatrics, orthopedics, and general. Trauma was too high speed, dermatology was just too boring, and plastics she had yet to explore.

Until today.

It didn't necessarily sound interesting, but she'd never done it. So who knew? She met up with her resident, figuring out who her attending was for the day.

It was no other than Mark Sloan. She sighed as she nodded, taking the charts for the day. She knew it would happen eventually. She'd have to work with him. All day long. She entered the elevator pressing the '4' button to plastics.

She met him by the nurses station. Just her luck, it was only her today. Her and Mark for 8 hours together. This had to be a joke. She didn't have time to crush on anyone. Especially him.

"Grey." He greeted, giving her that stupid, stupid smirk.

"Dr. Sloan." She responded, keeping her eyes on her charts.

He showed her the assignments for the day. She was mostly doing pre-ops and post-ops. If she was in surgery, it was for observation. She blew off most of his arrogance for the day, and tried her best to ignore his flirting.

Lexie ended her day with one last post-op. She checked the patient's vitals before walking to the nurse's station to put away her tablet. Of course, Mark followed her up.

"You did great today. You're one of the good ones." He complimented, watching her write something down.

"Thank you." She grinned. "I don't think I'm interested in plastics, though. I like peds a lot, and general."

"Hm.. That's a bummer. Go with peds. General's too basic." He said, walking alongside her.

"Are you.. going to follow me to the intern's lockers?" She asked, giving him a weird look.

"No, I uh, I wanted to know if you wanted to go out for dinner maybe?" He proposed. "Nowhere fancy obviously. It doesn't even have to be tonight.." Mark never got nervous around women, until now.

"I-I don't know..." She sighed, pulling him into an on call room, but making sure no one saw. "Mark, you're my boss. I can't just go out to dinner with you. It won't work. I'm sorry if you though we had something going, but I'm at work. I'm here to become a surgeon."

"Come on.. just one dinner?" He asked. "If it doesn't work out, that's fine. But one dinner can't hurt."

Lexie thought for a moment, or two. "Look. One dinner. We go to some dinner nowhere around here and no one will ever know about it. Deal?"

"Deal." He compromised. He was going to make sure she had fun, because there really was something about her.
