Olivia sat at the dinner table, waiting for dinner to be called. Grace was preparing a kale salad, and the others were in the living room watching Duck Dynasty. Olivia was glad Grace was cooking, she needed to be busy. If she wasn’t, she’d be in her room on Skype with Jordan. She was embarrassed about earlier, and Olivia felt sorry.

But, she did admit that it was funny. It made her feel hopeful. Soon things were going to be official, Olivia sensed it. Suddenly the TV shut off in the other room, and there was a scream. It was Dana.

She ran into the dinning room, hyperventilating, phone in her hands. Uh, oh— did something bad happen? No, Dana was smiling. She rushed over to Grace, and showed her the phone. They both jumped together. Then, she ran over to Olivia. She showed her a text from Mitch. It read:

Hey, want to come to the hotel Im staying at? I’d like you to meet Adam and Tye.

She then started to quickly type back.

“I accepted.” She said out-loud. “I asked about tomorrow.”

She quickly sat down, as did the others. Grace brought the bowl, and a few plates the table and they began to eat.

“So how was your day with Conner?” Grace asked Allie.

“Amazing! We talked about ourselves, and out interests, and I think I like him even more.” She said, eyes brightening just talking about it. Olivia sighed, and began to eat. Suddenly, there was a ring at the door.

“I’ll get it!” Exclaimed Allie. She was obviously hoping it’d be Conner. There was “Darn!” From Allie, and then she shouted:

“Olivia, its for you!”

Olivia uncomfortably got up, and everyone dropped their forks, staring at her. It was Shane, it was defiantly Shane.

She passed Allie as she walked over stiffly. She opened the door. It was Shane. He stood there smiling, head tipped to the side. Olivia gave a fake smile. She didn’t want to see him again, nit yet. Sure, she liked him, but something was odd. She couldn’t put he finger on it, but something was up.

“Can we talk?” Shane asked.

“Well, I’m kind of—“ She was about to finish with eating dinner when a voice sounded behind her.

“She would love to go on a walk…” The love was dragged out. Only a drama queen would do that. It was a give-away. Grace.

“Olivia turned back and gave her the “Could-you-cut-it-out?” Look, and Grace gave the “Why-would-I-do-that,-Its-to-nice.” Look. Olivia huffed.

“Okay, we can go for a walk.” Olivia gave-in.

Grace walked out and the girls could be heard chattering quietly in the other room. Then Grace gave a loud laugh. Olivia wanted to run in there screaming. But, she stepped outside with Shane.

“Look.” Shane began, staring at her. “I know you’re a little on edge about dating me. Why?” He asked.

“Because—“ started Olivia. “I think its wrong that you just broke up with Lisa and now you’re dating me. You didn’t break up with her because you like me, did you?” She asked.

“Uh, no. We— I told you its personal business!” He snapped.

Olivia turned around to open the door.

“Wait! I’m sorry. Look, I think its fine.” Olivia turned around to look into his eyes. It was so tempting to accept, but it was wrong.

“I can’t accept Shane. You just moved on to quickly.”

“But I love you.” Olivia stopped. She stepped closer to him, and gave a thought. Maybe it was okay… for a little bit. What if she dated him a short while, and then broke up with him? That sounded good. Maybe he would go back with Lisa. But it was still odd. How could he persuade her she was choosing the wrong thing? Maybe because she was madly in love with him. She nodded.

“Okay, fine.” She gave in.

“Good!” Said Shane, leaning in to give her a second peck on the check. Olivia gave a giggle.

“Bye!” She said, walking back inside.

“Bye!” Said Shane, and he began to walk away.

She walked inside, and walked back to the dinner table. Everyone dropped there forks.

“So?” Asked Katie, teasing her in a sisterly way.

“Its official—“ began Olivia. “Shane and I are dating.”
