Luke ran aimlessly down the long corridors of the Hoth base, not caring where he ended up. As long as it was far away from Han. He didn't think he could bare to look at the smuggler at that moment. Not after what he'd witnessed.

Eventually the young man found himself in the large hanger where ships that weren't currently in use were kept. Unfortunately, that included the Millennium Falcon. A huge gleaming reminder of what had just occurred in the mess hall. hisThe man let his body slink down to the floor as he cradled his face in his hands and tried not to cry.

How could Han do that, knowing he was watching? Maybe he was just trying to send him a message. Tell him that there was no chance of him ever being interested.

Luke knew that Han could be brash, but this was just cruel.

Han glanced up when he heard the doors close. He quickly realized that Luke had left. Fuck. He knew this was a bad idea but he just had to listen to that damn princess.

He quickly excused himself from the table, much to Jonah's disappointment. But, just as he was a about to stand and leave, a voice came over the intercom.

"Attention. An imperial probe droid has been spotted in an area. Please begin evacuation protocol C."

Han glanced worriedly down the corridor Luke had left through.

"Shit"

Luke glanced up, listening to the intercom's message. Normally, he would have rushed to find Han, but in that moment he didn't want anything to do with him. He wasn't exactly sure what to do. His X-Wing was out of commission, being in the middle of a generator replacement.

Pilots began rushing into the hanger and climbing into their fighters. The usually resourceful Luke, found himself standing dumbly as he combed his mind for any kind of a solution.

The only other ship in the hanger large enough to accommodate two people was the falcon, and Luke wasn't exactly jumping at the chance to board it.

However, if he stayed he would surely be captured as an enemy of the empire. He shuddered at the thought. Luke had heard stories about what was done with imperial prisoners.

Especially ones with a notorious history of destroying their ships.

This was a nightmare.

Han took off running down the long corridor, unsure of where Luke might have gone. He wasn't even worried about the imperial army coming to ambush them. In that moment, all he was worried about was Luke.

He didn't know what he would do if anything happened to him. If Luke died without Han ever getting a chance to tell him how he felt. The smuggler found himself cursing his dumb stubborn pride. He should have just told the kid a long time ago, not just run around playing all these silly games.

If he had, who knows? Maybe they'd be together now. Maybe they'd already be gone somewhere safe where Han could protect him.

But there was no time now for what ifs. Han had to find Luke and fast. He didn't want to think about what might happen if he didn't.

Eventually, he found himself in the base's main hanger. This was where his own ship had been kept during his stay on Hoth. The man took a quick glance around the room, taking note of its near emptiness. Most the pilots that were once there had already fled. Though, Luke's fighter still stood off to the side with several panels removed and different pieces of its interior exposed. Obviously it was in no condition to fly.

Then, he saw Luke, huddled between two work benches and looking terrified.

The smuggler jogged over towards him and knelt down, holding out his hand as if to help the man up.

Luke looked hesitant, and Han didn't blame him. After what he'd put this poor kid through, he wouldn't trust himself either. He sighed, frustrated with his own actions.

"Look kid. I know you're probably mad right now and I know you have a lot of questions. But we don't have time for that. Right now, I need you to get your ass on the Falcon so we can get out of here."

Luke gave him a confused look, but his expression soon softened and he nodded slightly.

"Ok."

Han pulled the man to his feet and together they ran towards the falcon, and boarded it.

"Can you man turret? We're gonna need it."

Luke nodded, quickly headed towards the middle of the ship, and found his place in the gun well.

"Hold on tight kid. It might be a bumpy ride!"
