Chapter 8: I Missed This

When I woke up, nakita ko wala na yung comforter, it was already neatly kept in the closet. Baka umalis na siya kaya I felt a little bit disappointed. I took a big sigh and just stood up to get ready for work.

“Oh, gising ka na pala?” nagulat ako. Pagtingin ko, siya pala yun. Nasa kitchen at nagluluto.

“You're cooking?” sabi ko kasi talagang hindi siya tipong chef.

“Well, yah. Ano naman masama?”

“May balak kang lasunin ako noh?” sabi ko na medyo nangaasar, tapos pinuntahan ko siya dun sa may kitchen and took a glimpse of what he was cooking. Infairness, it smelled good. :)

“Ano ka ba? Wala ka bang tiwala sakin?” tanong niya sakin. And I just shook my head and smiled at him. Haha.

“Ganun? Ah basta, why don’t you just go and get ready for work, then after that, you’ll get to taste heaven.”

“Ah ganun? Yabang.” natawa ako.

“Ewan. Just go. Matitikman mo din 'to mamaya.” sabi niya, sabay tulak sakin palabas ng kitchen.

So umakyat na ako sa taas and got ready for work na nga. Naligo na ko with a smile on my face sa sobrang tuwa.

Pagbaba ko, nakita ko ung presentation niya sa dining table. Grabe ang ganda.

“Wow!” yun na lang yung nasabi ko. And pinuntahan ko na ung table, seeing the food that he prepared suddenly made me hungry. “This smells good! Hmm.”

“Of course it does.” sabi niya, then pulled up a chair for me, and umupo na siya sa chair in front of me.

“But does it taste good?” sabi ko na medyo nanunukso pa.

“Why don’t you just try it and see for yourself.” he said while putting big helpings into my plate. I just smiled mischievously na parang nagpapacute.

And when I took the first bite, all I had to say was, “Wow!” it was so delicious. I never knew na he could cook. He just smiled at me. Sobrang proud na proud siya sa nagawa nya. And he made the least effort of showing it to me.
