Evelyn looked out her bedroom window.
She just wanted to go outside and play, but she knew that her Father would never let her.
Ever since she started crawling, she wanted to go outside.
Her Father told her that it was dangerous and that there were people out there who would hurt her.
He told her that she would always stay in the F.E.A.R tower, because it was the one place where she could stay safe.
Evelyn moved from her window to look out her bedroom door.
She saw that the hallway was empty and that her Father was nowhere in sight.
Now was her chance!
She quietly closed the door and went over to her bed.
She arranged her stuffed animals and pillows to make it look like she was laying in her bed.
She covered up the dummy of her sleeping with her blanket, before looking it over.
She arranged a few little things, before she was satisfied.
She pulled on her shoes, before going to her window.
She opened her window and went out her room into the miles and miles of desert.
She started running away from the Tower of F.E.A.R into the unknown world that she had been hid from for most of her life.
*
Andy was playing out in the desert.
Ki’Ta had always made sure to look after all of the orphan children and Andy was one of them.
He never knew his father and his mother was killed by a Shadow soldier, so Andy had always been in her care.
Ki’Ta didn’t know what it was, but there was something about Andy that made her feel like he would bring F.E.A.R to an end.
He stopped playing when he saw someone coming toward his way.
He stood up and looked.
He knew that if it was a F.E.A.R soldier, he was to run back to the camp and tell one of the Legion members or Ki’Ta.
He was ready to run back, but he froze when he saw her.
Her long, black hair framed her pale face and smoldering, green eyes.
When her eyes landed on him, she stopped where she was.
They just stood there and stared at each other.
*
A few minutes later, they were just staring at each other.
Evelyn knew what her Father told her.
If she ever saw a Wild One, she was to runaway and tell her Father.
But, there was something different about the boy she was staring at.
He didn’t look dangerous.
She gave him a small wave and he returned it.
He motioned for her to come closer to him and she did.
They stood in front of each other.
He smiled at her.
“Hi.”
She smiled back at him.
“Hi.”
“What’s your name?”
“Evelyn. What’s yours?”
“Me?”
He put his hand to his chest.
“My dear, I’m Andy.”
She couldn’t help but to giggle at the way he said it.
“You’re funny, Andy.”
“And you’re very pretty, Evelyn.”
A small blush crept over her cheeks.
She was starting to rethink everything that her father told her.
Andy wasn’t like anything her Father told her.
He motioned his hand to what he was playing with earlier.
“Do you wanna play, Evey?”
She gave a small nod of her head.
“Yeah.”
He grabbed her hand and led her over to what he was playing with.
He released her hand, before kneeling down in the sand and started playing.
**
William Control walked up to his daughter’s bedroom door and knocked.
“Evelyn?”
He waited for her to reply, but she didn’t.
He gently knocked on the door again.
“Evelyn, are you okay?”
She didn’t answer him.
He opened the door and went in her room.
He looked to the bed and couldn’t help but to smile a little.
She was sound asleep in her bed.
He was about to leave the room when he noticed something.
Her shoes were gone and the window was open.
He looked back to her bed, before rushing over to it.
He grabbed the cover and pulled it off the bed.
He felt rage and anger start to pulsate through his veins.
His daughter wasn’t there!
He looked to the open window and knew that she had snuck out.
He threw the blanket to the ground, before turning around and storming out of her room.
He was going to find her and bring her back.
Making sure that she would never leave the Tower of F.E.A.R again.
