Evelyn had never had so much fun.

She and Andy had been playing for what had seem like hours.

He was suppose to be her enemy, but yet he was the only person that didn’t care who she was.

Evelyn looked from Andy when she saw that the sun was going down.

“Oh, no.”

She stood up.

Andy looked at her as he stood up.

“What? What is it?”

She looked from the setting sun to Andy.

“I’m sorry, Andy. I have to go.”

She went to turn around, so she could start running home but Andy grabbed her hand.

She looked at their joined hands before looking at him.

“Come on, Evey. Please, don’t leave.”

“I’m sorry, Andy. I have to go home.”

“Oh, please, Evey. You can play a little longer.”

She looked into those bright blue eyes.

She didn’t want to leave, but she had to get home before her Father realised that she was gone.

“Evelyn!”

Evelyn felt her heart drop right into her stomach and her blood run cold.

She looked over her shoulder and saw her Father coming towards her.

“Evelyn, how dare you...”

He stopped mid-sentence when he saw his daughter with Andy.

A Wild One!

His face turned into a snarl and he started running toward his daughter and the outcast.

Evelyn looked back to Andy.

“Run, Andy! Run!”

He released her hand and started running back to the camp of the Wild Ones without looking back at Evelyn.

William Control stopped running when he saw the boy was no longer in sight.

He looked to his daughter.

She looked at him and gave him a nervous smile, but it faded when she saw the look on her Father’s face.

She looked away from her Father and dropped her head.

“Daddy, I...”

“You disobeyed me, Evelyn!”

She looked at him.

“But, Daddy, I...”

“Let’s go home!!”

He grabbed her arm and started pulling her with him, so she had no choice but to follow him.

She looked over her shoulder to where Andy had ran off.

She felt her heart clench.

She really liked him.

They walked into the F.E.A.R Tower and they went straight to Evelyn’s room.

He opened the door and pointed to the room.

She walked in her bedroom with her head down.

“You are my daughter, Evelyn. All I’ve ever done was to protect you from them and if I have to lock you away, so I can protect you then so be it.”

She felt tears run down her face when her Father said what he said.

“So, if I have to lock you in your room for a few days to remind you of that then that’s what I’m going to do.”

She flinched when she heard her bedroom door slam close and lock.

She walked over to her bed and layed down.

She buried her face in her pillow and let the tears come out.

She hated this place!

When she was with Andy, all she felt was freedom.

She looked up from her pillow to her window.

Her window was locked down, but at least her Father didn’t block her view of the desert.

She watched the sand swirl due to the night air.

Past all of that miles of desert, Andy was out there in the camp of the Wild Ones.

She was going to make sure that she saw him again.

That’s all she wanted.

*

Ki’Ta was putting all the orphaned children to the bed.

She came by Andy’s bed.

She kissed his forehead, before covering him with his blanket.

“Good night, Andy.”

“Good night, Ki’Ta.”

He watched her tell the other orphans ‘good night’, before leaving the silo.

He looked out the window that was near his bed.

He looked past the miles of desert, trying to look for Evelyn.

He didn’t want her to leave, he wanted to spend more time with her until her Father came over.

He had never been so afraid in his life, but he would pass her Father just so he could see Evelyn again.

That was all he wanted.

He just wanted to see Evelyn again.

It wasn’t long, before he fell asleep.

He dreamed about him and Evelyn playing in the desert with no one to bother them.
