In the middle of the confrontation between Kazuma and King Lumos, Summer noticed a buzzing. Everyone had one emanating from them, something that she had always noticed and never paid any attention to, but this one was particularly loud. She reached out and poked it with a mental finger. It flinched. Hm.
She knew she was the Concilium. She didn't know what it meant when the Shadowling said it to her, but after the encounter with it and Ace, she looked it up on the internet. It was a variation of the Latin word for mind control. It confused her. She certainly never had been able to control someone, and she'd paid no heed to it at the time.
But now, she kind of understood.
The words of the King and the Electron faded to a dull throbbing in her ears. She wasn't really thinking, just doing. She couldn't comprehend anything outside her anymore. She carefully latched onto the buzzing that was louder than everyone else's.
It tried to fight her, but she quickly overpowered it. Sensations and feelings flowed into her. She could see what the Magi was seeing. She could feel electricity running up and down her veins, and static bunches of it in the clouds. It must be Kazuma's brain, Summer felt rather than thought. That's why his buzzing was louder than the other's.
She willed him to stay as still as possible. Somehow, she knew he did just that. Summer could feel electricity coalescing, forming. In a bolt to strike the King.
It was too late to call off the bolt, but maybe she could minimize the damage...
She redirected it to hit where Kazuma stood.
Everything went black.
