Part 5
They came over to visit one day. Her fiance began to fish for information. He knew the last time he checked my fiance had a decent job bringing in 50k per year.
He always believed that my fiancé would never exceed the 50k mark due to the fact that he had only had a GED and no college or university certification.
He began to complain, "I need a better job man. I only make 70k per year. Hows work going with you?"
My fiance was shocked that someone would so openly talk about their finances to a person they never speak to.
"Its going well. I love my job." He replied.
He blatantly asked, "how much are you making."
More shocked at his second question my fiance still answered, "I'm on track to make 100k by year end."
Her fiancé's eyes widened and his mouth dropped. He did not at all except that answer from my fiance. It clearly read all over his face.
Her fiancé had a degree.
My fiancé had none.He quickly collected himself after hearing that unexpected piece of information before saying, "ohh wow! That's good man!"
There was an awkward silence that followed before he continued, "I'm going to be planning a guys night soon, I'll call you in a few days to let you know the details!"
A week passed. He never did call. He did however have his guys night the following weekend without any mention to my fiancé.
