I take another sip of my coke before twisting it, half burying it in the sand so that it wouldn't tip and spill. It was a beautiful day, I'd made up with Celeste and I was going on a date with Cameron later, so at the very least I was in a good mood.

"Hey, Peyton?" Celeste asks.

"Yeah?" I sit up and turn to face her.

"Will you come down to the water with me?" She whispers.

Ah. She'd waited till the boys had gone swimming, and Ellieanne, Faye, Abbie and Alyssa had gone getting drinks whilst Ellie had dragged the others off to the store on the roadside a couple minutes walk away, to ask me this.

"Why don't you go by yourself?" I sigh, lying back down.

"I'm... nervous." She says quietly. "I don't want them to feel as though i'm trying to be around them all the time."

"Fine." I stand up and neatly toss my sunglasses off of my face and onto my towel. "Lets go."

We walk down to the water's edge together and the boys splash over to greet us.

"Hi." I greet them, smiling. "Whatcha doing?"

"I brought an underwater camera and we were just filming the coral and us swimming and... ya know, just stuff like that." Jack G explains.

"Can we join?" I ask, putting my arm around Celeste.

"Sure!" They all smile apart from Shawn, who whispers something to Cameron, leaving him with a mischievous grin.

Celeste walks slowly into the water, after a couple of squeals due to the coldness. That and Jack J theatening to tip water over her head.

"What?" I say curiously, turning my attention back to Shawn and Cameron.

"Nothing." They smile to themselves.

Suddenly, they dash forward and scoop me up out of the water.

"Get off! Cameron seriously after last time this isn't fair!" I wail, kicking my legs, not that it helped.

After all i'm little and powerless, and well, pictures of them shirtless are all over the internet so you can probably guess.

"Don't drop me!" I yell.

They make they arms into a basket - like position and start swinging.

"Cameron, Shawn..." I warn, using my best threatening voice. "Don't."

With one final swing they launch my into the air and then I crash into the water.

"Ughh." I groan, spitting saltwater out of my mouth.

They both start laughing, along with the rest of the boys who were watching.

"Your dead." I mutter, before standing and trying my best to run after them.

They turn on their heels and splash their way towards the shore. I hit the sand and chase after them, although they're already halfway down the beach.

"Get back here!" I yell.

I stop and see Matthew and Aaron walking from the water.

"Whats up?" Matthew asks.

"They dumped me in water." I mutter, pointing to Shawn and Cameron who had now turned around to taunt me. "Help me catch them?"

"Sure!" Aaron replies, and at once the three of us brake out into a run and sprint down the beach.

We catch up with them surprisingly quickly, and as we don't have time to slow down, we crash into them, and we all end up in a heap on the sand.

"Thanks for that." Shawn says sarcastically, though he's laughing,

"Your welcome!" I say sweetly.

Cameron stands up and reaches out his hand to me to help me up from the tangled mess of people on the floor.

"Thanks." I smile, brushing sand from my body.

After being in the water, the sand was sticking to my body. The one thing I hated about the beach.

After we've all stood up, we begin the walk back to see everyone else. Shawn had raced past us all back to the group of people to see Ellieanne. Alyssa smiled and walked up to us and Matthew instantly curled his arm around her, taking a bite of her ice cream. We all meet back up in a big group apart from Celeste and Hayes, who I assume are still by the water.

I splash further in, the water slowly rising to my waist. Every so often, Hayes ducks under the water with the camera and soon enough his head pops up out of the water. I burst out laughing.

"What?" He asks.

"You look like a turtle." I giggle.

He gives me a look and imitates a turle pretty acurately, causing me to burst out laughing.

"Want to come underwater?" He asks. "It's amazing, there's all this coral, and little fish."

"Okay." I smile.

I pull my goggles on over my eyes, and Hayes does the same. He reaches out his hand and I take it. Together, we duck under the water out of sight and I see all the brightly coloured fish. I glance at him to see him moving the camera around. He turns in to me and I smile and give a small wave with me free hand. Being underwater with Hayes has a sense of freedom to it.

And I like it.

"Where did you get the ice cream?" I ask Ellieanne.

"Top of the beach, and it's on the right." She tells me, trying to stop Shawn from eating her ice cream too, having already finished his own.

"Thanks." I smile. "I'm going up to the shop, anyone want to come?"

"I will." Cameron agrees and we set off together.

There's only a couple of seconds of silence before Cameron speaks up. "Why are you smiling?"

"Because. I'm happy." I hesitate before poking him lightly in the stomach. "It's what you do!"

He laughs and takes my hand. I instinctively pull away from his touch, as we have never held hands in public, or anything that couples would normally do in public.

"Sorry." He apologizes quickly.

"It's okay." I smile, slipping my hand into his as we enter the shop.
