Caleb's POV

"I knew it!" a voice screeched.

Dak groaned and curled tighter under the blanket next to me. Sunlight blinded my still-closed eyes, making me groan like Dak had and curl tighter around the smaller boy. Wait....What?

Both of us tensed at nearly the same moment as we realized it. I opened my eyes to see Dak's face turn red as the knowledge that we were wrapped around each other sunk in. I quickly jumped out of the bed while Dak moved to the other side of it.

The twins were now cackling. One stood in the doorway with something in his hand, the other next to the offending window.

"Don't either of you knock? Also, how the hell did the two get in here? I locked it when I came in last night," Dak ranted as he almost calmly slipped from under the blanket. He was trying to cover just how bothered he was. I wasn't sure what was bothering him more, being caught in bed with your best friend curled around you or the twins breaking and entering his locked room. I doubted the twins saw the embarassment because Dak was good at hiding emotions like that.

"We wanted to see if I was right," the one by the window said.

Dak turned to glare at the one in the doorway when he said, "Turn out you lovebirds were right where Drake thought you were." The one that Dak was glaring at must be Josh then looked over at me before adding, "Drake, I think we interrupted their good morning."

I didn't get it at first, which was bad because it was my body. Dak glanced over his shoulder at me with a confused expression that turned into a widening of his eyes that had me looking down. Now I was red-faced.

Clearing my throat, I said, "So? Do neither of you wake with one?"

Drake walked around me to see what the fuss was about. "Whoah. Maybe we should've waited a little bit. Maybe we could have caught you two in a more ... sensual embrace," he said with a brow wiggle.

"Are you two going to make me give your mother those pics and letters?" Dak threatened.

"Letters?" Josh said, his face paling.

"P-pictures?" Drake stuttered.

Dak grinned evilly. "You two know I like to use evidence you two can delete."

I was confused. "What letters and pictures?"

"Oh. I didn't get a chance to show you," Dak said. There was still a glint in his eye. "Unfortunately, I left them all at home."

The twins glanced at each other. It seemed there was something these two were really hiding. "Uhhhh," Josh said.

Drake cleared his throat and said, "We'll leave, but the two of you should get presentable and meet us in the kitchen. We need to talk about this trip home."

Dak nodded and made a shooing motion. The twins bolted after tossing more wary looks over their shoulders.

I waited until they were definitely out of earshot before quietly asking Dak, "What evidence do you have on them this time?"

Dak grinned as he mouthed, without sound, "Nothing!"

I was laughing as I headed to my room to make myself 'presentable'.

*******
Thirty minutes later, we were all seated around the central island in the kitchen like it was a business meeting. Dak was the least patient of everyone.

"What's this about?" he asked before I had even pulled up a chair. Dak is definitely not always a morning person.

"You know we have to leave soon?" one of the twins asked.

"No shit, Josh," Dak snapped. He only said the twin's name more so I could tell who was who than being snappy.

I reached over and tugged on Dak's faded green hair. "Looks like you need to redye it."

"Nah," he said, grabbing my wrist with a smirk. After he had held it the appropriate amount of time, he morphed me. I thought he would stay that way, but he demorphed back. His hair was now a fiery red. I hadn't seen that color since middle school.

Ignoring the staring twins, I asked Dak, "I thought you liked the green."

"I did, but I needed a change." He turned back to the twins. "Now get to the point."

"Umm, well..... We have an idea," Josh said.

Drake coughed. "Our dad owns a farm in Montana."

"How is that suppoed to help?" Dak asked, sounding irritated.

"I think they are suggesting going there," I tossed in.

"Yes! That's exactly what we are saying," they said together.

As Dak opened his mouth to pick apart the idea, Drake said, "Josh and I are not expected home until August first. We haven't seen our dad in a long timeand decided the rest of the summer should not be dictated by our mother."

"Also animals," Josh added.

Dak started wavering.

"Farms mean lots of variety," I added.

Together the twins said, "It's next to Yellowstone National Park."

"It's a plan, then," Dak said. "I just have to let my parents know."

When he got up to leave, I couldn't help but think about how our morphing abilities seemed to be acting strange.
