'First Place- Samezuka Academy'

That's what it had said on the score board. Haruka looked up from the water, his breathing hitched as he bit into his lip with a 'tch!' Blood dripped solemnly from the wound as it fell into the crystal water. The red gently mixed with the blue as it melted away almost like ice.

"Haru,"

Makoto said, his hand held out in a gentle gesture. Haruka ignored it and swooshed his hair side to side, water splashing on Nagisa and Rei's face. Everyone looked in agony as he helped himself out of the pool. Smiles turned to frowns as they all watched him walk off. His feet made slosh sounds as he walked down the empty hallway. Dark shadows tugged at his everything as his thoughts engulfed him.

It felt as if he was falling down a never ending tunnel. No light. No smiles. Nothing, Nothing but water of course. The deep blue bubbles rose from his throat as he struggled for air. He felt as if the dream was becoming a reality. He was sinking like a stone, and there was nobody to stop him, until he got to the center of the earth.

"Haru, Haru, Haru!" He heard someone yell.

He snapped out of his own mind to see a certain piece of shark-bait. Rin. His eyes burned with rage as he starred into those of the oceans. Rin was searching for a logical thing to say without yelling at the boy.

"What... What the hell was that? You weren't racing like yourself. You were totally out of it." Rin said.

Haru was completely unresponsive. His face blank, just like the dream he had. Both of them sat in silence, awaiting the sound of something. Until there it was, the tapping of a shoe. Actually, Multiple. In came Nagisa, Rei, and Makoto. All three boys sweating from running. They had all seen the look in their teammates eyes. And they knew something was wrong.

By this time, Rin's body had pushed Haru against the lockers. The cold metal soothing the fire inside of him. He lowered his head slowly, not wanting to contain it anymore. Cold tears dripped down, the light catching them and making them visible. At first it was just a few. Then it was like a storm. He sniffled and cried hard, unlike anything he had ever done in front of his friends. They all gasped, watching as he slowly slid down towards the floor. They all gathered around, hoping of something to soothe him with.

" Haru-Chan, it wasn't an important race, we always have next year."

"Hai, Haruka-Sempai, there is... No need to cry. You did an amazing job."

"Haru, we all tried our best and we got second!

"C'mon! Cheer up! How 'bout both our teams go grab something to eat and we can discus-"

They all talked until Haru had had enough. His threw his fist against the lockers in anger, banging until it made his hand ache. He just needed someone to hold onto. Someone to hug. Someone that wouldn't mind not letting go. So, he grabbed into the closest person.

Rin's eyes went open wide as Haruka hugged around his waist. His wet tears dripped down and onto his swimsuit. Rin's hands remained in the air until he understood what to do with them. Gently, he laid them down onto Haru's back. Comfortably patting, he shushed him quietly.

Makoto quietly sighed in hope that that would have been himself. Nagisa was almost in tears too, the thought of his friend almost mentally breaking down scared him. Almost to the point of tears. Rei had never seen him in this state either. Not even Makoto.

Haru tried to catch his breath but just ended up making it worse. He fell into Rin's muscular structure and hiccuped. His air choked him and he coughed. Under his eyes were swollen and pink and lines where tears once had been were left behind. They all sat there in the moment, awaiting something from Haru. But when nothing came, they all sighed. But then only to realize, he was asleep.

"Let's all go to Haru's place."

Was all Rin said before he picked up the lighter boy. He looked in astonishment at the other three. "Do you ever feed him? He weighs like 80 pounds!" Rin remarked. Makoto gave a glimpse of a smile then began out of the locker room. Rin hoisted Haru's legs around his waist an followed after Iwatobi.

When Haru awoke, his eyes flashed around the room. "My house?" he thought. He sat up as the subtle blue blanket fell from his shoulders. Then, He felt the sadness that was inside him earlier. He pulled at his shirt in an attempt to release some of the tension, but to no avail. After, he realised what he wanted to do.

He stood up as the floorboards lonely creaked. And he stared longingly towards that back room. His parents room. The one with the closet that held all of there prescriptions and pills. Thoughts ran through his head and he began his journey with a stride.

'I have no future. Other than swimming, there's nothing here for me. I have no future. Other-.' He kept repeating in his mind. Once he stepped into the closet, he saw the retched orange vials that held his demise. He quickly reached out and grabbed as many as he could. Then closed the door and sat on the floor, making sure the door was locked.

--- ---

"Haru-Chan... I have som-" Makoto said, walking into the now empty room. "Haru?" he called again. No anwser. Then, he became worried. Searching the house was the only thing he could do. He opened doors until one caught, denying him access to the inside. "Haru! Hey!" he yelled, banging repeatedly on the wood.

"Move back! I'm going to break down the door!" He yelled.

Once he did, his entire world started to fall down.

Haru lay, body pressed against the opposite door with pills scattered around his lifeless body. Makoto gasped as he heard the footsteps of the others. He was now in tears. "Nagisa! Rei! Help! Please hurry!" The shuffling of feet who're through the hallway as Makoto's tears dripped onto the lifeless boys face.

The clear glass that Rei held fell to the floor at the sight. They all gathered around and called out his name, until Makoto stopped. He rummaged through his pocket and pulle out his phone.

"Nagisa, Call 911. Rei, Call Rin."
