"Huh," Viridian remarks to themselves. They had woken up five minutes and thirty-two seconds ago, but they had spent that past time sitting in bed.

"What is it, Cyaptain?" Vermilion asks. He, too, had woken up five minutes and thirty-five seconds ago.

"Something seems off, but I can't quite put my finger on it," Viridian muses.

"Eh, it's probably nothing. Let's go wake everyone up." Vermilion says as his eyeballs float out of their sockets.

The two walk over to the bridge. To their surprise, everyone else is already there.

"Is something wrong?" Vitellary inquires. "You two look unsettled."

"We're fine," Vermilion replies. His eyeballs detach from his brain and float around the room. Victoria grabs one out of the air by its optic nerve and stares at it.

Tentively, she licks it, and Vermilion shivers. She lets go, and watches it join the other eyeball up at the ceiling.

"Woah, cool! I can see everyone, including myself!" Vermilion exclaims. He waves at Verdigris, who had waved up at his eyes.

"Ok, so clearly, something's not right," Viridian states matter-of-factly. "We need to figure out what's going on."

"What do you mean?" Vitellary asks. "I don't see anything out of the ordinary."

"Something about Vermilion's eyes is bothering me."

"Aw, come on, Cap. My eyes are fine." Vermilion huffs. His eyes shoot down from the ceiling to stare at Viridian. Viridian finds that they, too, want to grab an optoc nerve and lick an eye. As soon as they move to do it, however, the eyes draw back, and Vermilion flinches. "Hey! Don't poke me with that!"

Viridian stares at their hands. Their hands are made of porcelain.

"Oh." Vermilion now realizes the something is, in fact, off. "Y'know, now that I think about it, your smile is really big, too." He pokes Viridian's porcelain skin. "Wow, it's all solid."

"Is there anything off about me?" Vitellary asks.

  "And me?" Victoria pipes in.

"Wait, Verdigris and Violet have been awfully quiet." Vitellary looks around the bridge, and Vermilion's eyeballs rise up high to help.

Verdigris is stroking Violet's head. While this may not sound odd on its own, Violet is now a small plushie. About a foot tall, in fact. Verdigris has various shards of glass sticking out of him, looking like spikes. To the greater surprise of everyone, Violet is moving on her own.

"Well," Vermilion remarks. "Anyways, Vitellary, uh... Hm..." His eyes float around Vitellary. "Uh... I'm not really sure, but..." Vermilion then finds that his eyes are staring right at each other. He yelps, and his eyes spin around and reorient himself.

  "What's wrong?" Viridian asks.

"I looked into my eyes. It was really weird," Vermilion replies. "I think I looked through Vitellary's chest."

A confused Vitellary looks down at himself. There is a clean, circular cut going straight through his chest. His beating heart is all that is left in the cavity. It starts to speed up.

"Hey, hey, Vitellary, look at me," Viridian coaxes. Their blank, souless eyes stare into Vitellary. "You're fine right now. You're ok. Just breathe." Vitellary finds himself breathing despite what he has just discovered.

"Alright, Victoria, time for your inspection," Vermilion says. His eyes float over and circle around. After a minute, though, he's about to call it quits. He doesn't see anything off. This is when Victoria yawns. His eyes dart up and find that not only does she have a long, slimy tongue, but she has sharp fangs instead of smaller teeth. "I diagnose you with slime tongue and fangs."
