It's been around two hours since Shane fell asleep and Ryan, as much as he appreciated the moment, began to feel hungry.
He tried to untangle himself from Shane who was heavily resting on him ; he earned a grunt in response of his movements but stood up nonetheless, putting the pillow under Shane's head to replace his thigh.

Ryan couldn't help but stare at the sleeping form in his bed. He never saw Shane sleeping in such relaxed way ; his hair was all over the place as well as his whole body, positioned all across the bed, he wasn't fully under the covers anymore.
His tee shirt, "well my shirt" Ryan thought, was a little bit up, showing the tall man's stomach slowly rising and falling down as he breathed.
Ryan was watching the scene, taking it all in : the casualness of the whole thing, the fact that he felt secured in his house and warm unlike the weather outside.
The warm tingly feeling came back, making its way from Ryan's heart to stomach, expending to his whole body ; "not again, nope, we're getting out of here" he thought to himself.
He pushed the covers up Shane's body, allowing himself to gently brush a little strand of hair falling into Shane's eyes, resisting the urge of caressing his cheek and felt a sharp pain in his heart as he pulled back, exited the room and went down the stairs.

Shane woke up, feeling cold all of the sudden. He cracked an eye open and saw the room slightly lit due to the weak winter light ; other than that, nothing was different except from the fact that he was alone.
The tall man quickly straightened himself on the bed, feeling panicked and very aware of all the sounds around him. The wind was blowing strong outside. Shane always loved the feeling of being secured inside while the outside was the victim of mother nature's wrath ; however, now, he was terrified. Where was Ryan? was all he could think about.
He jumped hard when a loud "bang" echoed in the silent house ; his heart was racing, pounding in his head.
He stopped breathing to hear better : nothing.
Even as terrified as he was he couldn't help but think about Ryan being in some sort of danger ; that's what motivated him to go, against his better judgement, investigate the concussion.

Ryan mumbled a quiet "shit!" as he dropped the pan on the ground. Fortunately, he hadn't start cooking yet so nothing was to clean.
He grabbed the pan from the floor and listened closely, hopping he didn't woke Shane up but when he heard the sounds of footsteps and the creaking stairs he knew he fucked up.
Right as he was about to speak up, apologizing for the noise, he heard Shane's voice shakingly raising up, calling his name.

Shane went down the wooden stairs, seeing light coming from what seemed the kitchen. He carefully made his way there, calling Ryan with such a shaky voice that he didn't recognized it at first.
He suddenly stopped himself, releasing a shaky breath he didn't know he was holding, Ryan was standing in the middle of the open kitchen, a huge pan in hand.
The tall man was torned between laughing, crying or passing out as he felt his whole body, mind and soul relaxed.

-"Oh thank God it's you!" Shane said, his voice still shaky as he walked towards the smaller man, putting him into a tight hug.

Ryan didn't know what to do or what to say, so he simply wrapped his arms around the other man, one on his back, the other at the nap of his neck, slowly caressing the small hair there.
The embrace lasted for a long enough time for Ryan to lost himself into the hug, listening closely to Shane's breathing and heartbeat ; he could tell from the speed if it that his friend was scared, like freaked out scared.
He waited for him to calm down, pull off the embrace, still holding onto his forearms ; they locked their eyes for a moment before Ryan spoke again :

-"Who do you think it was?" He said, giggling softly.

Shane felt beyond relaxed and better after the hug, still warm and fuzzy ; his voice was nonetheless unsure as he answered the question:
