Chapter 11

Mädchen is sitting on the sofa, and next to her, on a chair, there's Skeet.
They are waiting for David to come home.
"Mom, do you want us to stay, too?" asks Sly.
"No, guys, thank you. It's something between three of us. Go in your room, please." replies Mädchen.
Skeet sees she's shaking, so he holds her hand.
"I'm here, okay? Nothing will happen."
Mädchen looks at him, and she kisses him.
"Thank you."
- 15 minutes later-
* the door opens *
"Baby, I'm home!" says David.
Then he goes to the living room, and he sees Skeet.
"Oh, hi Skeet!"
"HI, David."
"What are you doing here?" asks David.
Skeet looks at Mädchen, and she starts speaking.
"David, can you please sit down?"
David looks at her, shocked. She never called him David since they were married.
He sits on the sofa next to Mädchen.
"What's up?"
"David, I always loved you more than anything, and I still love you, you're my best friend, my soul mate, my everything. But... I realised I don't love you like I did 20 years ago, when we first met. And Skeet helped me to understand it. Don't get angry, because there's nothing you can do. I will always love you, and we will always be best friends, but... Not wife and husband. So... Here's the thing.
I'm sorry, David. I'm so sorry."
Then she starts shaking and the tears start falling all over her face.
David looks at her, and he is shocked. But not surprised.
Skeet holds Mädchen hands, and David smiles.
He puts his hand on her tight.
"Mädchen... Don't cry, baby. I understand. It's the same for me."
Mädchen stops crying, and she looks at David.
"What?"
"Yes, it's the same for me. There's a girl, and I really like her." he says.
Mädchen turns to Skeet, and then turns again to David. Then she starts laughing.
"I can't believe it!" she says, laughing and crying at the same time.
Then both Skeet and David start laughing too, and they don't stop until ten minutes later.
Then Mädchen holds David hands.
"Thank you, David. For everything."
"Don't worry, Mädchen. I will always be here."
Then Skeet puts his arm over Mädchen's shoulders, and she rests her head on his shoulder.
Mina and Sylvester come downstairs, to see why they were laughing so hard.
"Is everything okay here?"
Skeet, Mädchen and David turn to them.
"It definitely is, guys." says David.
