You were ready to cry as you cowered on the floor hidden; just out of sight by nothing but your trusty blanket and your beloved dog. "I really, really  hate my life." Every sound in your house made you jump nearly a mile. In retrospect; you should have taken this time to run, after all, your friend in Cali did with her masked stalker before she moved to your lovely state. Buddy's bark pulled you out of your thoughts as the wind outside began to still. It was almost like a cliche horror movie scenario. Well, that was until you had an idea. It was a mildly twisted idea but a good one.

Ashley was the only one to actually look for you while everyone else ignored your terrified screams for help. Well, they could be of service now with a bit of gentle enforcement... You pondered this dark thought before shaking your head. As much as putting Brad or someone else on the line while you took off with your dog sounded amazing it was cruel and definitely not the way to go. Especially because the crime of their murder would be most likely linked back to you anyways. You thought back to your friend who said she escaped her killer by locking him in his own cabin in the woods.

A small grimace crept to your face as you recalled the events that she laid out for you. You closed her eyes and let a low rumble roll out of your chest before you sighed. Her dad had apparently put her into a survival class after they moved so she did teach you a few good tricks. You shifted where you sat before grumbling to yourself and carefully getting to work in one of the rooms. It started with finding wooden boards and sticking nails into them just underneath the windowsill. You frowned and shoved one closer to the wall so it was out of sight. Your eyes grew cold as you continued to booby trap your house.

Buddy was safe in your room in his cage so he wouldn't touch the traps and get hurt. You lifted your head just slightly as the sound of life outside started up again; this made you tenser rather than relax you. You looked around at the windows and the doors before sitting back holding the hammer tightly in your hand. You stood up for yourself once and you'd do it again if you had to. Maybe you'd call your friend over to help you with the whole situation since she knew how to defend herself.

You shook your head at the thought. "Honestly, dragging more people into this is probably the worst thing I could do. I probably put Ash at risk by even mentioning it..." You frowned and grumbled internally before you heard the doorknob jiggle. You watched in silence from your spot before you heard a gentle knocking. "Hey! Y/N! You left your phone charger in my car!" You dropped the hammer and kicked it out of sight before opening the door.

"Oh! Thanks, Ash I was looking for it actually!" You froze. There was nobody there. There was absolutely nobody at your door. You slammed the door and barricaded it with one quick motion. Your chest pounded as you backed away from the door and grabbed the hammer. You quickly fled upstairs as you heard chanting outside. Methodic and ominous chanting at that. You looked at Buddy who was stiffly laying in his cage with his dual colored eyes staring back at you.

You swallowed hard but cautiously looked at your window where you slowly shuffled over. Poking your head just out of the blinds you could see the large skull-faced creature with its mouth wide open possibly projecting the noises. On top of the animal, if you could call it that, was the masked man. He wasn't looking at you; more like he was looking at the door you just poked out of. What the hell were they?... You looked back out the window and watched as the sun started to set. Fan-Fucking-Tastic...
